However, apparently it’s super easy to swap a small-block into one of these.

Dang! Now that hurt right there. You didn’t have to do that Bro! Just continue to cuss us out (less painful, and no meaning)...You went for the jugular right there. Ouch! (hurts cuz it’s true)
In 1988 the US was still crawling out of the “stagflation” of the late 70's early 80's. I was lucky enough to have a really good job with a major airline in the US. I was at $35k in the pay scale in 1988 ($70k today). The Honda Prelude of the mid 80's was the Chevy Camaro of the mid 70's. I was there, I was 25 in 1988.
Mark froze at the cockpit computer. “Captain,” he said. “It won’t let me continue. What are we going to do?”
Jeezus fella’s........Chill.
Oh, come on now, you’re really not being fair. I think your assesment is a bit harsh.
Sorry dude, the Honda’s were all the rage in the mid to late 80's. They were expensive in the days of “yuppie” and other than a BMW they were considered the “I’ve made it” appliance to have.
What a great great article and point. Thank you.
I bet the cockpit computer was also asking them to upgrade to the latest version of iTunes before proceeding.
You’re a myth
Yeah, except nearly every aspect of Australia’s natural environment wants to kill you. Be it the animals, plants, insects, temperatures....
Cockpit resource management: it’s a thing!
‘89 here. It was an unkillable appliance of a car. I bought it off a Colombian artist with 150k on the clock in summer of 2000. Drove it for 7 years, through college. It burned oil, was missing 2 hubcaps, at one point i broke the steering rack (a $500 repair).
I had an 88 Accord LX-i 5 spd, one of my biggest automotive mistakes was getting rid of it.
What more car do you need than today’s Nice Price or Crack Pipe Prelude? It has pop-up headlights, legendary Honda…
This, surprisingly, isn’t bad. The only thing that makes me want to projectile hurl is all the flames. Why on the fucking gauges?
