Talk to Hoovie. I think he created the term.

At 60k they are pulling their pud. Yes, it would make a great DD but after sitting that long, the entire car would need a thorough going over and a gazillion small rubber thingies and hoses would need replacing and to have this done by a reputable Mercedes mechanic and not “Pedro on the corner” with a hammer in one…
“Of course, I’m too cheap of a bastard to even consider that, so I have other plans in mind.”
I fully agree. My grandfather was a Peugeot mechanic and he had everything when we were growing up from 1950s 203s, then 403s 404s, 504s. The Peugeots of that era were wonderful cars and way ahead of their time.
Jason. Has the manufacturer ever gotten in touch with you since you bought it? I mean they must be aware of the free publicity they are getting through Jalopnik. At the very least they should send you another dozen or so of these as payment for the continuous and mostly positive sales pitch.
The price of this model and era Range Rover is climbing the crazy stairs. There is even a UK company that restores them to original or retro mod and they are not cheap to buy. If nothing else, this may be a good investment. You could store it for 5 years and make a killing.
I like these but that paint job looks really amateur and as flat as hell where it should be shiny.
Makes a fun story but I’d have kept that screw-up closer to my chest than the 4 hairs I have on it.
But not impossible. ;-)
People were dying to get one of those cars.
Now that is a REAL pair of truck nuts.

You beat me to it. Run Forest run. Far away as fast as you can.
After watching Car Wizard working on Hoovie’s old Bentley, my response would be run like hell as fast as you can in the opposite direction from this money pit.
Dummy ?!?!? Is that the best you can do Torch ? Halfwit, douchebag, moron, imbecile, cretin. Hell, get serious Jason.
That is weird Torch. Hard to believe Brazil was ahead of the US on this. We talked a few years ago about my Brazilian type 3 that I had for several years down here so I went back to take a look at some old photos. Yep, my 1970 had them, and they were wired up and functional. And I mean really, how much money did VW…
Just granddad being a dipshit again. But who is that girl shooting the video. Hot, hot, hot.
Nothing is more suspicious than sell photos taken in the rain or just after a wash.
No way Jose or Hose B. Rusty nuts and mounting brackets all over the top of the engine bay tell me it’s been swimming more than once. I love these but not this one.
MG convertibles of this era are NEVER rust free.
