I’m guessing you skipped the rest of the posts where she repeated AD NAUSEAM that she had full support and love for Jewish people and had many Jewish friends and loved ones AND was only criticizing the Israeli government and the media’s coverage of it.

If it’s laid anything bare, it’s that any criticism of Israel is branded as “antisemitic” in order to stifle Palestinian perpsectives, and has been for a long time.

A single single state solution is the only reasonable outcome.

Justified criticism of the nation-state of Israel is not automatically anti-semitic.

Agreed. The Los Angeles Times headline for the story was “Melissa Barrera dropped from ‘Scream VII’ after pro-Palestinian posts,” which is more accurate. Even more accurate would just be that she was fired for telling the truth.

nothing she said quoted here is wrong or antisemitic. It’s just the plain old obvious that everybody with eyes can plainly see.

She wasn’t fired “over comments about Israel” as the headline states, and framing it this way makes it seem like she went off and said something crazy anti-Semitic.

So he’s suing over the reporting of things he said and did....in public?

I agree that Captain Marvel 2 would have been more respectful to Brie Larson. (I hear she was irritated at that.) But I kind of like the title “The Marvels,” especially since there are three leads.

Well they had agents smart enough to advise them to walk away from those kind of crappy offers. Because it feels like if they are that far apart for people who can probably easily find other jobs, there isn't much more you can do.

I dunno. It’s not that every single one of Pixar’s movie sequels have been great, but I was also of the mind that Toy Story and The Incredibles didn’t need sequels and yet they were as great or greater than the originals.

Inside Out is my personal top Pixar film, so I’m also disappointed that they didn’t let it just be as an outstanding one and done film. I’ll always respect how Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo for never made a sequel to Bridesmaids; they knew they made something good and didn’t want to tarnish it even though a sequel

Funny you should say that because since I watched it I’ve thought it’d be ideal for a sequel; just have a new movie at each stage of her life.

That’s the whole point of the push for top-to-bottom automation — so the wealthy can completely eliminate any dependence they have on the rest of humanity, once and for all. Sure, it won’t be ‘as good’ as what actual people can do, but it’ll be good enough that they won’t care anymore, because it’ll be infinite,

The studios have no doubt been licking their lips at the prospect of scanning actors and reusing them endlessly in whatever they fancy for free. They’re not going to give that up easily.

I fucking hate “reaction videos,” and have since their inception. Doing this for a war video adds a whole new layer of pathetic narcissism for clicks and attention.

Much like other topic, you’re really gonna wanna disable comments on this. Chuds gonna chud.

His real claim to fame for the past 20 years has been his refreshing honesty about how he lost his passion for directing and prefers to live off residuals and play video games with his kids. I have no idea how somebody looks at “irascible retiree John Carpenter” and assumes that he has another Halloween in him.

Ha, yes, that is the one thing I know about this project. John Carpenter sitting at home, ripping bong hits and playing NBA2K while Zooming with the DP on where to set up the camera. Legend.

I heard he was directing via Zoom from his couch.
