See, now I want ALL this shithead’s stuff out there - mostly regarding what the hell was he trying to cover up with this mess? What was worth making things harder for his fellow airmen and other service members when real racist bullshit happens?

I’m sorry, but if you break out your calculator to add up 1+2+3, you deserve a wrong answer.....
HOT TAKE
Got to hand it to Spielberg—he’s taken staring at printing presses going full blast made look interesting. It reminded me of Moneyball—making spreadsheets bafflingly cool. (I wonder if the flick will have a prologue and set the stage of the movie—explaining what Vietnam was and what is a printing press to the kids.)
Bob Odenkirk AND David Cross?
Good to see Spielberg dip into TV A-listers to back up his stars. Paulson, Coon, and Brie deserve everything.
I’ve watched some of the most recent netflix movies, the horror comedy the babysitter and the jane fonda/robert redford gentle drama. and while they are well done and even entertaining, he is right, they are tele-movies, not theatrical experiences. theres nothing wrong with that, but they have no place in awards…
I disagree. He tries to make grand films that require grand viewing experiences. His movies are meant to be seen in theaters, he’s been filming in IMAX and streaming his movies (particularly Interstellar and Dunkirk) on a TV isn’t the same. I think he’s just a purist and passionate about how movies should be viewed…
I mean, he heavily prizes the theatrical experience and his movies are set up to take advantage of that. I can sympathize.
We could cut him up into several pieces and ship them to all his home countries?
Yeah, anyone who has ever seen a single McFarlane show or film would know better than to hail him as some sort of champion for women’s rights.
I know we’re heaping a lot of praise on Seth McFarlane for “calling out” this stuff, but can we at least acknowledge that this was the same ceremony where he sang “We Saw Your Boobs” to all of the actresses in the audience?
Difficult People is a very funny show if you like watching very self-absorbed people and/or lots of pop culture slams.
Everyone knows comedy improves when you chop it up and put it in a montage.
To him America means the US, so he sees it as country built by white people. Also he’s as dumb as a bag of rocks, so he’s never really examined the logic of ‘if you’re not white, ‘x’-country is not your home’. Spencer thinks wearing a three piece suit and walking around with a glass of whisky makes him look…
I enjoyed this mind twisting logic too. Couple that with “we made you build it but you didn’t actually contribute” and you can live your life in a comfortable, white-washed reality.
Good. The Richard Spencer/Charles Murray/Breitbart type of racist wants desperately to be cool. Their entire modus operandi is trying to rebrand the image of “racist” from toothless hick into cool pop culture leader. (These guys are all either failed comics, screenwriters, or academics). They want to be Stephen…
And then Rich stood in front of a mirror saying he’s the toughest, smartest, most specialest man who ever was.
All the people who thought we were paranoid for thinking that Rose’s ‘drug charges’ were part of a coverup are welcome to apologize right the fuck now. I’ll be waiting.
