Couldn’t this same power train be added to a rail buggy? There are many much cheaper tube frame cars available. The Nomad is sexy, and there’s a price for that. If you seek off road thrills, there are some excellent racing chassis available that have many benefits at lower costs.

Or for starship Captains to thrash around on alien planets (that always look surprisingly like southern California).

You... You’re just wrong about the pollution levels. Even a quick search will show how much better the air in southern California has gotten since they increased their standards.

L.A. especially has this weird effect to to the nature of it being a valley. Where pollution just goes into the sky and stays. So everywhere…
