Absolutely. Only new cars here are Hyundais and LiFans

This vehicle would command a price near 20K USD on the local market where I am now. I have developed a soft spot for them, but I still rank them below the Patrols and TLCs.

In the States most have been thoroughly abused, I would want to see the frame and suspension mounts and crack the diffs as well as check the

Not in East Africa, it isn’t, and they don’t care if it is in Petrol or Diesel guises.

I have seen a pretty convincing presentation that they would slime Seoul too, which takes the casualty count up into nightmare territory.

A friend wears these and he shares your profession, though they might be hot. Honestly, he goes through gloves about once a year, and this is his latest. He doesn’t care about the padding on the palm, but you may.

I refuse to ride without at least 6 in boots anymore after watching how many folks with the low-top riding shoes get hurt.

Better luck next time, but you handled this well.

The FAA notice was conservative to the extreme. When MI6 was told about the toner bomb, they initially cleared the cargo and told the Saudis to try again, which made the Saudis go crazy and insist that they look twice and then the Brits found the bomb.

I tend to believe the terrorists that they did a trial run

If we were talking about the same UPS crash, it was actually toner cartridges used as bomb casings and related to this:

His other truck is a Toyota Land Cruiser 100 series.

There is nothing not to like here.

Volvo had run the small overlap in house since at least the late 1990's to my recollection, and use different grades of steel and more of it, period. That’s why they always are heavy pigs. A 2006 XC90 is safer for passengers than most cars on the road built in 2015, frankly.

The myth that all modern cars are as safe

The LC200 and the Y62 are six on one, half dozen on the other, ratings are worthless. They are equal with the same pilot and prep.

Holy shit! I will have to compare running gear but it sure as hell looks like they brought the Patrol to North America!

Looks like a movie for good reason, most of your action movie explosions involve the tasteful use of propane for the proper sheet of flame expected.

It wasn’t a structural failure, anyone who’s spent time around things going boom can tell that.

Maintenance is frightening in Africa on aircraft, and especially on older aircraft. Always better to be on as new a bird as possible. Most of the airlines that fly into Europe try to do as much there with their fleet for

Working in East Africa I am on the bomb theory side of this argument, with someone trying to replicate the success in the Sinai.

Training in the snow in the Upper Midwest one year we wrapped the M240's with white tape. Long story short, it caught fire when the guns were placed and employed, we never did it again.

But it looks cool.

It was drilled into me at a young age to do this as PM for winter climates, wipers are cheap safety equipment. Excessive? Matter of opinion, but few things make me go crazier than streaky windshield- I inherited that tic.

When I lived in VA I didn’t bother with winter blades, but since the car lived outside, I did do

Good shit, I needed that laugh.

You’re in good company. I grew up in MI, never did it, and I never sacrificed a wiper to the ice gods.

I put this in the same column as those who throw salt over their shoulder. OK, fine, but whatever makes you feel better about life. If you’re so clumsy or inattentive as to strike the wiper with a scraper or not heat

Lived through over 25 MI winters, had a car for 10 of them. Never had a garage. Never did this silly ass wiper stand stuff.

Never had a wiper ruined by icing. Also changed wipers every 6 months, new winter blades, went back to regular un-rubberized blades for rest of the year come Spring. Had no idea this was a thing
