Interiors are nicer on the Lexus, more sound proofing, more neato features, nicer paint and one of the best (smoothest, adaptable) suspensions made today.

I don’t want it purely because I don’t like active suspensions, I have seen them fail, even on Toyotas, when punished over washboard roads or with too much cargo,

Handling and some fuel economy gains, and I suspect ease of entry and egress.

Everyone I know who has one has put some more air between them and the ground. With tires and lift, I have a solid 12 in of ground clearance on my 2003. My buddy with the 2009 has 11.5 in.

But they’re plenty capable out of the box too for

Overbuild is the motto. Has a 1 ton truck axle, for starters, and the strongest frame Toyota puts in passenger vehicles.

My 1988 had the transmission out of a 20+ passenger Toyota Coaster bus for durability.

After owning two TLC’s and helping friends with Tacomas and 4Runners now, the difference in the level of engineering is pretty apparent. Nothing wrong with the other trucks, but the fact that the accountants were really involved in the build process is apparent early and often. You made the right choice, but it sounds

Used to be rough and tough? Ha.Ha. Aahahahhahahahahahahahaahahahaa.

The U.S. spec is tarted up, but it doesn’t hamper it as long as you don’t have a mental block. A GX-R on the other hand, with OME or Ironman suspenders and ARB, TJM or Kaymar rear bumpers will go nearly anywhere anything with 4 wheels should when

I’m a big fan of the pano sunroofs in the city for passengers too. The views are amazing in a modern urban setting with high-rises. Don’t get me wrong, they have perks. I just don’t know if I see the point here, given the reputed design environment for this particular vehicle.

I think you are over-thinking this. They probably were wearing Adidas track suits to blend in with a tour group, then went over the side of the pier 200 m away from the base.

A UPS truck powered by a Rolls Royce 60 series Merlin.

Totally idiotic. I still want one.

Don’t bother, Californians are as bad as or worse than Texans about the whole irrational state pride thing.

Same theatrics I got here in Africa after the Mercedes plowed into the back of my TLC when stopped. How do you hit a SUV 73" high at 25 kph that is lit up with more red lights than half the intersections in the city? The same way you drive into a head-on collision with a cop car I guess.

I grew up north a bit from the GR metro area, always amazed me how insulting the folks from the East side of the state are about things North of Saginaw and West of Flint. As though they didn’t realize how much lower the crime rate would be for the whole state if we convinced Ohio to annex them.....

No, not the kind of poor he is talking we don’t. I know, I am one place where I could go bankrupt handing out money or even loaves of bread in probably a week. Even livestock here are continually malnourished (too many animals kept for the crop capacity).

We don’t have an issue in Appalachia of people trading children

Yes, because having a panoramic sunroof on a truck really designed for desert use is logical, except probably at night.

I get that it is a lifestyle accessory for most that buy it, but the truck is so capable in every other way it seems funny. I spend a lot of time over 8000 ft in arid places, and I might as well glue

Sportvue, yes! I was trying to think of the name.

You must have been one of the 20 people worldwide that bought it, I know of no one else in all my years of riding.

There used to be a bulky flashlight-looking add on HUD device that stuck to the outside top of your helmet with a radio sensor for gathering speed and gear indication data. Hell if I can find it right now, must have been 10 years since I have seen it since no one bought it. Will be interesting if more polished system

Yeah, they’re getting good combined arms training for their crews and unlike the Ukraine they’re not having to explain losing whole companies of Russian Federation soldiers in “training accidents”.

Close, but not France, more like their friends in Rabat

populism

Even a short blip short-circuits people in places like DC. I took to flashing lights for a “go ahead”, using the horn for an alert or outrage.

A lot of horn. At a lot of DC and MD plates, predominately.

Seriously think of it this way: living in a society with a muffled voice to use for a lot of expression, they have a natural tendency to immediately use whatever avenue they are allowed to do it with as long as they are allowed to.
