this article is incorrect. my buddy has a 2008 A4 avant with manual-trans. he’s owned it since new from the factory and i’ve driven it.

3 words: retreating blade stall. co-ax lets them get seriously higher speeds by offsetting the stalling blade with the contra-rotating blade. definitely more complex and heavier, but you get something very desireable for it: speed.
