I know there’s a lifehacker Australia for Southern hemisphere topics - https://www.lifehacker.com.au/

I served twice. Both lasted 1-2 weeks and were mind-numbingly painful. The first trial we ended as a hung jury after a week of arguing what is or isn’t self defense. The second trial the lawyers brought up multiple arguments that weren’t even a consideration for the charges.

Would guar gum work for vegetarian gummies, or is that the wrong consistency?

So when you say call an expert - who is that?

GoodRx for pets is a thing, also make sure to shop around. From what I’ve seen CostCo has pretty good prices

I would assume it also depends on the reason why people get their flu shot. It sucks to be sick with the flu, but the likelihood for the average person dying from that is minimal, which can lead people do be more lax about it than they would be with COVID.

Just saw this comment thanks to an update on the article. Congrats on predicting the future

No, that’s going away soon.

My cat always has dry food in her bowl because she self-moderates her eating, but I stupidly got her used to expecting wet canned food in the morning. I would love a way to automate that and hopefully get some sleep back

I don’t have any advice, but I hope your family and dad come back to some sort of sanity at some point. Losing people to this weird version of reality sucks

Assuming you’ve had a job and done something there, you probably have achievements. Whether it’s “supported X number of users on proprietary software” or “Processed X number of orders to keep customers happy”, there’s almost always a way to phrase it so it’s an achievement instead of generic statements like “worked on

I hope you’re right, but I’m worried about the fact that we’ve been social distancing for ~6 months and are immune systems aren’t going to be nearly as strong as they were back in March. I’ve been WFH for a while before pandemic and could pretty much guarantee I’d get at least mildly sick after traveling. Hopefully

Looking at the main article, none of them had a breach. There was a web scraper that pulled publicly available data. The breach was with the company that did the web scraping - making it easy for someone else to grab information on lots of people with minimal work

They’re (luckily) not stuck in your throat making it difficult to breathe, more just off to the side and annoying

I think it’s mostly just that different budgets fit different people - so throwing ideas out to let people adapt to their own lifestyle

I wasn’t aware of this and just had my airplane liquor bottles sitting on my tray after I mixed them. The flight attendant just told me it wasn’t allowed and asked me to put the bottles away. As long as you aren’t causing issues, most attendants don’t actively want to get you barred from flying / arrested

A lot of people are unemployed and don’t have that ‘easy and convenient’ life right now. Maybe it’s just my anxiety, but I think this is going to be worse given how bad everything already was (both the racism and covid aspects), and people already being stir crazy.

I did the same thing trying to find an area to live in LA that was a manageable commute for both my husband and I. Theoretically knowing you’ll sit in traffic for an hour is one thing, but actually sitting in traffic for an hour and seeing if it’s too much to deal with for however many years is much more helpful.

This is aimed for teenagers, but they get 2 free audiobooks a week over the summer

This is how I feel about a lot of the WFH articles that are giving advice based on people who have been in a WFH situation for the past however many years. One of the huge parts of WFH advice is to get out of the house and meet up with people, and almost none of those articles mention how much of a difference it makes
