Awesome, glad those nosy c**ts finally have been shut down once and for all and this man can go on with his life. When I saw the first story and the video for it my heart absolutely SUNK when halfway through it they revealed that he was in a wheelchair. Working on cars was probably the one thing that reminded him of

Only if it got so cheap that I felt it was near “disposable” in price.

Someday I still want to buy a W8 Passat that falls somewhere below $3,000K and just know that it’s going to grenade and cost more then it’s worth to fix so it’ll go to the junkyard.

I wouldn’t pay $8,000 or $10,000 over book just because a car is “single owner” but I would rather not buy a $3,000 heap from a High School kid either. It stands to reason that the more owners a car has the cheaper it gets to buy, the less money the new owner has to maintain it, and the less the current owner

So just don’t be an idiot and have some experience behind the wheel then, got it! ;) I gotta give you props for doing that though, brave soul then most of us. Plus I’m sure that thing can do some epic parking lot donuts....

Exactly. I hope CUVs are the next lame car. Eagerly awaiting wagons to come back too. My last car was a Jetta wagon and I’m thinking my next will be a 4motion golf sportwagen or the new Buick one. Car handling and driving experience + more cargo space then bullshit like these SUC things.

To me the lights themselves don’t look that cool or good actually UP, it’s the fact that they are HIDDEN completely when not in use and that you get to be a bad ass and flip them up with a switch when you need them. The absence of lights when they aren’t in use is what made them cool.

It also gave cars that had an

God these things are horrible. They look like a regular sedan got stung by a bee and needs to get stabbed with an Epi-pen to stop the swelling.

Reminds me of these art cars:

This is going to be the new in style vehicle for people that got brainwashed into thinking that “higher = safer” and that SUVs and CUVs are vehicles that only Soccer Moms drive. They don’t care if it’s really practical, useful, or functional for anything but they just want to sit higher and they don’t want anyone to

SUC is also completely appropriate but I love this too! LOL.

Agreed.

Ugh, I still can’t get behind these. Every time I see one I think it looks like it got stung by a Bee and needs to be stabbed with an Epi-pen to stop the swelling.

And if a BMW version is garbage imagine how bad the rest of these on the market are.

This is the only SUC that doesn’t make me seeth with rage. It looks super “muscular” without looking like a bloated version of a sedan on steroids. I still think it’s useless from a practicality stand point though.

No thanks, I’ll take deer instead please!

The technology may be getting closer, but ownership adoption of them won’t be substantial and ownership won’t be common place for a long time. It may never take off in the VAST rural areas of this country either.

No matter how many Silicon Valley entrepreneurs or auto execs want to claim that we will all be riding in

Reminds me of my Mom’s gift to my Dad for his Mustang that was very much NOT well recieved and never put on the car. LOL

When I was a teenager my Dad finally bit the bullet and restored a car for the first time. It was a 67 Mustang convertible that while generally straight and a good resto candidate needed a lot of

I talked to someone that picked up a used Beck Speedster recently for $18,000 actually. It’s probably the exception to the market, but it’s possible. That’s the only reason I voted CP here.

Agreed, there are no details at all about the quality of the engine build or suspension components, leading me to believe that this was as basic of a turn key car is you can get, and the fact that he wants to replace it with a Beck tells me that it isn’t as good of a kit car as the Beck either. I also talked to a guy

I would wager to say that almost everyone driving a 356 replica isn’t trying to pass it off as the real thing, and if they are, they’re an incredible douche for doing it. Maybe you get a handful of guys that take on “Corvette guy” attitudes and try to impress women with it, but I’d guess that’s the exception.

Why

As it has already been said here, the Cobra Kit cars and Beck Spyders are probably the closest thing you are going to get to the real deal, and the chassis, suspension, and bodies are almost dead on to the originals. And often times you can improve on the performance of the originals.

It’s not like you’re turning a
