Same thing I was thinking too. Good beach crusier, doesn’t get driven all over so it’s find that it’s slow, unique, and has character in spades.

Came here to say the same thing. This is pretty much the first thing that came to mind when I read what they were looking for as long as it fell within budget.

a 70's vintage Benz sedan or maybe a VW thing came to mind too if you really wanted an open top beach cruiser.

A 69 Dart GT would be doable but getting more iffy. Actually though I think he would be happier with a 76 Duster though. He said once that he liked that little 300 straight six with a stick more then his Dart.

I just know he’ll never want another 67 mustang convertible like the one he restored though! LOL That was

Nice! Always wantes a 4WS car. I let mine go after college because I kept having rust issues resurface despite a full respray and with a B21a it was a ridiculous oil burner. I think if the aftermarket support was there for it and I could have done a B16 or B18 swap I would have kept it. It was a great car though.

Kind of watched him back up thinking “Please don’t get hit by a Suburban when you finally get into the road” too. :p

Yeah, I won’t be dreaming of the day I get another Chevy Corsica! Maybe another 91 Honda Prelude Si, but that’s so so there too.

There actually used to be a VW sponsored TDI Cup from 2008 to 2011.

Exactly. Eventually they’re going to discover that no one wants a base model Jetta or Golf bumper cover and it’s going to get tossed.

There isn’t going to be a really high demand for much of these base model parts though. Maybe leather seats, wheels, fog lights, HID headlights, and cargo covers could have some value to someone else but that’s about it. Had these been recalled Golf Rs, GTIs, or GLIs then there would be a lucrative market for the

Too many streets, some of which probably never actually get plowed for days after if at all.

I remember one particularly awful storm in Chicago when I was driving my beater 92 Crown Vic. We had one private parking spot in the back of the brown stone I shared with 2 other roommates so we took turns parking in it for

All of these are well said. Slowing down, increasing your following distance, and having snow tires will make any condition but black ice or an absolute zero visibility white out tolerable.

I’ll add a couple things though.

1) Don’t assume your god damn SUV or truck is suddenly INVINCIBLE just because you have 4WD! I

Chicago was terrible about this too. I don’t give a shit if you spent 15 or 20 min. digging out your spot and you put your god damn plastic lawn chair or a milk crate on it afterward. It’s hard enough to find a parking spot in most neighborhoods on a good day, it’s down right awful when half the fucking neighborhood

I need to go give the Alltrack a test drive soon. Realistically it’s another year or 2 before I would make the move. I’d need to pay the 6 off first or justify that it’s worth selling outright and paying off the balance I owe to get into the Alltrack. I’d like to have that added equity in this car though.

Yeah I’ve essentially tolerated it because I’ll shamefully admit that I have yet to own a car with over 200 HP so it was par for the course for me. My last 2 cars were both VR6 Jettas which have comparable power. With the stick it isn’t bad either but it’s certainly not FAST.

I’m really leaning towards going with

They probably do need to sell a V6 but they don’t seemed very concerned with developing one at all. The stuborn insistance of “this has enough power” with the miata makes me think that it’s not something they’re going to bother with either. I’m still scratching my head as to why they don’t put the 2.5 in the miata.

As much as I like my ‘15 Mazda6, this is what I’ll be replacing it with unless the 6 wagon does come out. I’ll probably just get the GSW 4motion manual wagon though instead of the actual Alltrack. That’s supposed to follow the Alltrack in another year.

I’d switch out my 3 for that as soon as it was possible. But I doubt they care about what consumers like me want.

“Mazda’s color lineup sucks.”

I’ll always have a soft spot for Labs. Our family dog was a Golden Lab/Cocker Spaniel mix. He was about 45 - 50 lbs. full grown so he was like a lifelong puppy in size. I think that partially kept him alive longer too. He was 14 when we put him down a few years ago because his hips finally gave in and he wasn’t

Smart Dog! And damn you for reminding me that I need another Lab in my life again. :(
