Well the setting has the inherent problem that if you go into the past, you get “For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic.” And if there’s anything less interesting than more Imperials, it’s more Jedi, combined with millennia of peace and justice.
In our small town we only had small town problems. There was never a murder let alone a shooting. A car break in or burglary would make headlines and the suspect would be caught in a week or two.
My car is from 2008, and it has zero electronics on any of the locks, and it will not just lock itself EVER, because you need the key to lock the locks.
