The whole Darfur issue has been sitting by the wayside least of all because of China's involvement with the sitting government of Sudan. You cannot deal with the humanitarian travesty being committed in Darfur without ruffling China's feathers, and well, Bush didn't dare mess with the Chinese while in office.
