Exactly. It's not really his capacity to deal damage that made him very powerful, but his almost guaranteed ability to perform armor and weapon breaks. That was actually how I used TG Cid - toss him in the front, break their weapons, and the rest performs cleanup.

The Jeigan concept is actually followed in the article if you read it: a powerful character who aids on the start of the game, then eventually recedes in the background as everybody else levels.

If I remember correctly, TG Cid has Agrias', Gafgarion's and another character's abilities. Check out his commands here. Needless to say, once I unlocked TG Cid, all of the encounters that I had became easy mode.

In Final Fantasy Tactics, there is this one dude who is always my go-to character in every encounter, my so-called ace in the hole. As far as melee-types go, he is the most powerful during my play-through. So, even if I haven't played FE:A, I know what you mean.

This thing decimated my party a lot of times. Thank god for quick save/quick load.

I was at the Distant Worlds concert last year, and when Uematsu and Arnie Roth performed this live, I had goose bumps. So, here's my advice: if there is a Distant Worlds concert happening near you, make it a point to attend it. You will never regret the experience.
