I’m thinking you could add a small camera to this setup, and have it take a series of pictures when the mailbox is opened. Not much use most of the time, but if you have ever had a package taken out of your mailbox, you know how incredibly frustrating that is.

I’m starting a business, have a good (I think) app idea, and have laid the groundwork to build it. I can see expenses down the road becoming a problem - e.g. marketing, infrastructure hosting, etc. Any tips on what the right time to try to get investors is (after alpha build and before marketing, after a beta when I

At this point I’m a Spotify subscriber (Swift can make her 80 million billion dollars touring like everyone else), but for new music discovery I still, STILL, cannot find a service as good as Pandora. They are so freakin good at picking out music I'll like.

You didn’t ask for enough. I’ve made the same mistake, and have chalked it up to a learning experience.

Yeah, for my money it wasn’t even close. Let’s see:

I mean, maybe you could get an idea and then knock, like, 20% off what the app says the cost is?

I switched to a standing desk a couple of years ago. I've gotten used to it, but if you're the kind of person who literally spends 8 hours a day at your actual desk, I think you will be miserable. I will say that I do prefer standing to sitting at this point when I get into a flow and am actually getting shit done,

This definitely looks like a “take my money now” game.

Worth noting that for some types of items this won't work. For instance, I returned an Xbox controller, but accidentally put the wrong one in the box. The store scanned the controller serial number and it didn't match the box, so they didn't take it. Which in my case was a good thing because I needed to return the

Bah. It’s situationally dependent. I write code. I wore a suit when I interviewed for a bank. I did not when I interviewed literally everywhere else. Maybe software falls into your “special skills” caveat though, idk.

Blanket statements all break down at an individual level. I’ll give my own personal example of how this could be true in some cases. When I exercise I sleep much better. I fall asleep faster and stay asleep rather than wake up 4 or 5 times a night. That translates into more energy for me on a day to day basis.

Nice. My own method has simply been not to wrap them in bacon. I have crumbled bacon over them though, or put them in a salad with bacon vinaigrette.

I hate that I missed the nominations. I’ll go ahead and put The Bread Baker’s Apprentice down here then. Baking is a subset of cooking, I realize, but often overlooked when learning how to cook. This book is the best for understanding how baking works fundamentally.

Peaches! Yes! Grilled pork tenderloin with grilled peaches. Make a chutney with them if you're feeling fancy.

My girlfriend is a singer, opera in fact, and I wish more people realized that it’s a skill, not just a talent. She has to work at it constantly. Also, I wish people would stop asking me if I sing as well. No one asks here if she writes code as well when they find out I’m a developer.

Jesus christ, right!? I get a lot of questions about how to do something in Word or Excel. I don’t know, I write software, not books!

I imagine they will probably just teach the ANSI standard, without any platform specific implementations.

A CEO would make you sign a non-disclosure and no-compete before telling you. This is junior executive level at best.
