Ah, I never said we weren’t disagreeing! That was in response to another user bringing a less weirdly aggressive and condescending energy to an article about steam achievements.
I mean I agree, I never said developers should have to cater to one type of player or another, only that I can see it being frustrating if you like to play games a certain way and it is not made clear before buying this game that it doesn’t allow for that.
So I did, that’s an observation.
I definitely agree it’s interesting thematically. That said I think it’s also one of those cases where we shouldn’t tell people how to enjoy a game.
Lucky!
Finally.
I mean it was a lighthearted reflection on a little bit of a guilt felt at the realization that winning any competitive event means someone else has to lose. I would call that a normal response.
This seems to be an extreme response.
A basically worthless “asset” whose price has been inflated arbitrarily by several thousand percent due to bandwagoning and fomo?
I think it may be time to reread 1984...
Presumably it would be a similar piece of equipment built to handle plastic if this were scaled up, and the cotton candy machine was only used for proof-of-concept.

Yeah no one said any of the things you’re suggesting. Hesitance to purchase a product put out by a company with well-documented abuse at the highest levels isn’t extremism.
As others have noted though, the margins on that $500 you give them for a console are pretty thin. I honestly have no idea what the cost of developing the Windows OS is, and how much of the income from that comes from individuals like you and me rather than corporations buying site licenses, but the margins on that Win…
Yeah, this was the first thing that jumped out at me too.
Yeah dude, no one is saying she can’t have her own beliefs.
Yeah, my first thought was that neither of them were wearing masks...
Yeah, that reply (the one you were responding to) was... deeply unnecessary.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with giving kids any and all creative tools. But play should be separate from work, and while for some kids learning to use design software will be play... a lot just want to dick around on minecraft, and that’s fine.
