"What's the harm in religion?"

brilliant. So you don't modify your speech for the listener when you intend on bring heard? Because most people do, rather than placing the onus on the listener to do the heavy lifting, especially at the speaker's request. Seems arrogant and presumptuous.

Kama sutra

Well, obviously the first impression thing is a myth. How can you possibly deduce a personality just from one impression? That's sort of definition of shallow.

Yes, but it's only wrong when men do it. This is just another data point that men are awful and women are victims.

All of which work. Try doing what works.

You're an excuse maker, just own it. Not every woman is an apologist for her abuser like you. Maybe you don't have the strength. Fine. But don't act like everyone else is as helpless as you.

that's the same hand. You just described the same thing.

Because they're really good judges of character. Except , when they're not.

Depends. Are you belching out an avalanche of consciousness or using an economy of words, as you would in a written paper to be a submitted for consideration?

yeah. Nutty.

Lord knows women never stood by their men. Never.

you've just explained all the reasons why the problem can't be fixed.

You don't know what eugenics is, or selection pressure, do you? It's like you're suggesting your Josef Mengele if you refuse to marry an abusive man.

Yeah. Problem is, women would rather read the bible.

There are real world solutions. For example, 'Calling off the engagement.'

This problem seems easily fixed. Rather than dating men that punch you (I'm looking at you, Janay), date men that actually treat you as an equal. And then teach your daughters this. Seems to me we could eliminate all insufferable male traits within a generation by preventing them from reproducing. Problem solved!

When I refer to religion in the context of American culture, I'm referring to Christianity, catholic and Protestant. Clearly, Hinduism isn't a factor.

The puritans still exist. That's what I've been trying to explain.

No need? None? Seems like a hell of a claim? What fabulous sex- positive religion are you familiar with that has the level of cultural saturation that Christianity has in our culture? You know, the one with all the associated baggage that gets half the country foaming at the mouth about banning contraception and sex
