I lived in Charlotte and Winston-Salem. Can confirm that Winston is terrible. Charlotte is just another generic mid-sized US city. But it least it feels like a city where everywhere else in NC is basically a giant suburb of itself with nothing interesting going on except the bar scene at the local Chilli’s.
