I like that from certain angles, it looks like a two door. Now that the 2 door GTI is dead, I wish VW would find a way to hide the rear doors.

What about depreciation on a four or five year old car? Once you factor in things like higher gas mileage you could break even. There are too many variables, you have to gamble occasionally.
I never thought of it that way, but that’s actually what I do with my GTI. The windshield has a large rock imprint on the passenger side, but if I replace it I know another rock will hit it. I’ve had different people recommend glass guys to me, but I look at it as insurance toward the next rock. Same goes for the…
My wife and I just had to make a big decision on whether to bite the bullet on a large repair bill and keep her 14 year old car running while hoping nothing else major happens soon, or trade it for something newer and probably more reliable. We decided fixing it would be the best value after having everything looked…
I only use cruise on the interstate in dry conditions, but even then I hover my foot over the brake. My only reason for using cruise control at all is to get a few extra mpgs.
oooohh.. Velour floormats.
The F&I guy wanted to kick me out when I bought my car. I made an appointment with the salesman on a Friday afternoon, test drove the car, negotiated for a few minutes, then agreed on a purchase price. On to the next room, I told the guy I’m paying cash and then he started trying to sell me every tacked on warranty…
As someone with a kid and a two door car, that’s why the seats slide forward. I don’t have any more difficult time getting my son out of my GTI or my wife’s Highlander. The only argument I can agree with is that it would be easier to open two shorter doors than one 5 foot long door when parked in a tight space.
Great job on keeping your car. I’m sure people were insisting you get a Canyonero when your second child was on the way. People in England drive small cars all over their small roads, and it’s not like they aren’t making babies. You already have to make too many compromises for kids.
JCWhitney fender flares will do that to you.
The difference is the recharge rate. A can of fuel can have an ICE car running again in under a minute.
The description of Jalopnik on a Google search: “Daily automobile news and gossip for those obsessed with the cult of cars.”
Bulk of its business, or bulk of its profits? I would think the fleet/base model would be the best seller.
I’m not into video games, and always thought these streamers just didn’t want to get a real job. Your comment opened my eyes to the fact that this is a real job with pressures. Sitting for long hours and not getting enough sleep surely can’t be good for the body in the long term.
Years ago, I was at a local dirt track that hosted some sprint cars. One went straight up the embankment on the backstraight and ramped off the track into the woods. Not until this week did I think about the fact that it could have happened on the front straight with the bleachers. That track surely didn’t have…
An interlock won’t work with kids. I need the A/C pumping while I fight with that carseat in the back.
American manufacturers are killing it with the concepts lately (lincoln excluded). If only they would start to make them. I love the toned-down badge on the Escala, but you know if it ever went into production it would be a 10" full color logo with LEDs.
I agree. I saw the length and thought “eff reading all that,” but then I got through the first line and kept going.
I like this one because the other driver lost control on his own. Almost all of the other submissions are people trying to defend their assholishness because someone else was also being an asshole. This story, the guy just took the exit too fast. Not your fault you buy good tires.
The picture is of a cargo cover. It is only made to hide your stuff from view. The shelf is not pictured. The CRV has a built in shelf as one poster pointed out.
