To Dublin, OH, I go! One thing I do remember is an article about a Chrysler store that floored a bunch of bogus conversion vans and got away with it forever even though they were like only a few miles away from Chrysler Financials main office or something.

Also, you vastly over estimate how much of a role VAG-NA plays. The only time I have seen them is when they send a rep out every few months or film their national ads here. See the store front on VW.com? Yeah thats the most significant presence theyve ever had. Plus they largely don’t give a shit what we do so long as

GMs don’t care about corporate. My GM is an amazing GM. Made my dealership profitable for the first time ever during the first month of the TDI shit and ever since. He has an amazing relationship with corporate, mainly because he went to the same law schools, country clubs, etc... But his attitude about corporate,

I work for VW. Contact VW Customer Care. They will make Fairfax VW shit bricks.

If you were in Southern California, id send you to my first store. My current store is actually still growing inspite of the fucktardery from Corporate. They’re failing due to the owner being a similar level of fucktardery and seem to follow a philosophy of lose as much money and people while they still can.

Yeah, in the Golf/GTIs, there are only about 800-1000 of profit margin so the writedowns wont be big

Your best chance would be see how much a dealer wants to lose from invoice. Most GTI S manuals are around 26k, 27k. I’ll get you the invoice price when I’m at work. If you’re trying to get one for 20, then you’re pretty much asking them to lose 4,500 to 6,000.

We who work at VW stores have a term for people who try to buy a GTI with Performance Package for around 20k.

Before I got into the car business, I grew up around it. I’ll tell you that I can remember the guys who worked at a CJD point out here laughing at how shitty the cars were the first year they came out, and to this day I still hear the stories and occasionally take one in for trade about poor bastards shelling out 10

Dude, I sold Porsche for a few years. Everything about your statement: no. Just no. I sold a guy a Cayenne who started as a grill cook at a fast food joint. Now he’s a VP for HR. Two years later, I sold his daughter a Jetta that she paid for by... you guessed it... being a grill cook.

Yeah plus the Golf Wagen is a lot cheaper too

We have already sold more Golf Wagens at my store since the release than Jetta Wagens in 2013 and 2014.

I love (and sell) these things but I will agree there needs to be some more competition. The Golf Wagen is my second favorite modern VW, but damn. We need more. I want to be able to point over at the Ford lot next door and say “Don’t worry, Mr/Mrs Customer, this is a ton better than the Taurus/Fusion/Focus Wagon!”

I’m soooooo not looking forward to having this back in the US

That’s absolutely beyond stupid. I happen to be in car sales, and if someone wants to test drive it, then sure! If a car isn’t meant to be driven, what the hell is the point?! I have a couple of coworkers who INSIST on checking credit before they even look at the lot. Needless to say they won’t be around long. The

That's up Highway 74. Great ride/drive. I live in the Valley but family up the hill. Love driving up 74 to visit.
