I don’t think the tech is quite ready yet on automated ticketing via camera, but I also suspect a large part of the reason you see “mistakes” like this is not a bad AUC but a financial incentive for algorithms to be biased towards false positives and away from false negatives.

I propose crowd-sourcing traffic violations. Here’s how: every vehicle gets a paintball gun. Drivers who identify poor driving behavior can shoot the offending driver’s vehicle with one paintball, like a downvote. Once your vehicle accumulates sufficient paintball downvotes, you lose your license. 

See, I’d say the opposite. My "small" town pd gets enough funding to do it's job without having to resort to revenue generation from tickets, and is therefore genuinely helpful when needed. Far better than VA state troopers, though county cops are ok. But small town cops, in my experience, care about the small town.

Its actually probably better than using a sawzall as you don’t have to worry as much about clipping the brake ducts or accidentally cutting any of the structure behind the carbon fascia. You have more control to trim just the carbon away. Its like a giant Dremmel.
