I agree there really needs to be a definitive line in the sand. But the law exists not as an enforcement policy but rather to “send a message” to advertisers. Don’t make shit up about your product and you wont have a real problem.

VW is going to Lionel Hutz their way out of this, or try to...

Watch those commercials carefully, they usually use careful language of “potentially, some people, may” or other hedging words. Follow up with a disclaimer in small print- usually that’s all you need- a disclaimer saying that the items haven’t been tested or whatever.

THANK YOU! Im not the only one that looks at this stuff and scoffs. Im surprised that it took them this long to bring the Truth in advertising guns to bare.

Ehhh... I disagree. I did buy a DDV (I like that, maybe I’ll get a new badge for the back of the car) because it was touted as better for the environment and had a high resale value. My last TDI was 8 years old with 250k on the clock, trade in value to VW was $4,500. Current 2010 DDV (TDI) has 145k on the clock, it’s

Oh those brave warriors for justice. Never underestimate the ego of public sector authority. Gotta defend the perks somehow.

Now now, on the left that’s how the big mac looks when produced with care by the book at McD’s corporate HQ. On the right is how it is slapped together at your local franchise by teenagers who don’t care.

Seeing how much of a dick EPA is, I almost want to root for VW.

No, no. We hate Duke because of comments like yours. Also, because the school produces cock knuckles of the first order.

This is why we hate Duke, this right here. Coach K clearly said that because in the line you could see Dillon Brooks saying you are right and I’m sorry. Of all teams to lecture about sportsmanship with that asshole Grayson on his team, Dillion would have been well in his right to say “You’re an excellent coach, I

That was my sad attempt at sarcasm on the Internet. It never works right.

No, we can’t, you unpatriotic, VW diesel smogging tool. Go away and drive your Toureg.

If I can't make fun of anyone on Jalopnik then I want a full refund of my subscription.

too bad gawker ended up ruining it for errbody

I’d prefer to watch the actual game not just people running into each other at full speed. Kickoffs are mostly useless for the majority of games, but I understand the excitement when they work well. I just think I’d rather see the NFL limit the opportunities for two really big (possibly roided up) guys running full

Does anyone else have a hard time caring much about a six-figure Nissan? I think it’s bad ass, and the performance figures are stunning, but it’s no longer the value-oriented world-beater it once was. It’s now squarely in the price bracket of its competition, and has lost that underdog/overachiever charm that drew me

Two stars!

Thank god, facts instead of opinions and conjecture.
