spot on. The profit margins airlines work with are crazy small. Some have even turned to taking away free peanuts to turn a profit. O-the-horror.

Ive never had a problem. Give it time, im sure I will. Hahah

It would take a big change to enforce this. Some have suggested charging for a carry on but that would cause a mutiny. Its a loose, loose.

boooo hisssss :) hehe

Yea, I should edit it. I have no qualms with those physically able to remove their bag in a timely manner. I see you and I love you. The most underrated issue is the extra space that the bags physically take up during de boarding. There is little room for all of the people, let alone a large bag, 6 feet up, 4 rows

interesting! sounds like a good experience overall. Im always deathly afraid of someone dropping a bag on me. As a millennial, I apologize, they were probably raised by terrible parents. Its not us I swear, its bad parenting from the generation before me!

Someone else just said the same thing which is crazy to me. I was too young to remember those times but sounds like we need to bring it back!

Dakine backpack with an ipad, headphones and 4 Bombay Sapphire shooters. every time.

Good points. Some people think its all about them. Its a learned trait passed down from poor parents to the next. Self awareness also plays a factor. Some people don’t have any in a social setting.

Tru. I avoid airlines that charge extra for a checked bag. Especially now that southwest flies to Colorado. I don’t have to spend $100 to check my snowboard and a piece of luggage.

Which intensifies the process altogether. 6 hour flight then 20 min to disembark. Its the last thing I want to do. Get me off the plane, Ill wait at the carousel.

I was in 7th grade when that went down so I don’t have any prior experience. But great insight!

Not always feasible but great suggestion!

there isn’t enough space in the over head bins for 99% of the passengers to "carry-on" nice try though.

Yea, I do a backpack as well. its awesome.

Good point. Which is why I fly Southwest whenever I can. It also allows me to justify a few extra dollars on SW if their fares aren’t the cheapest. Its only an extra $22 for "early bird boarding." Well worth it IMO.

Gotta start small to gain public trust... United Airlines wasn’t built in a day and a large IPO with no prior air industry experience wont bode well with investors.

I fly southwest for pleasure so checked bags are free. And if its for business, I get reimbursed for a checked bag.

I try that as well. Some airlines however, will assign you in the very back if you request to sit with someone because that’s where they have 2 seats available next to each other.

Good f-ing point! People wait until the very last second to attempt to retrieve these items, further exacerbating the entire process. I know its not possible in every situation, but the worst is when they look around for sympathy when trying to get out the 45+ lb. bag. Its like nope, you put this upon yourself. Now,
