I lived in El Cajon for a year, & it has a large population of people with mental health histories and/or with developmental disabilities. This is something that should not be new to them and they need to have more resources.

“I’ll take it!”
I’ve got a rock that keeps away tigers. Want to buy it?
WE need to pay for the Bear Patrol! Won’t somebody please think of the children?!!!
This reaction is exactly why they released a still frame instead of the entire video.
As a person of color, your racism disgusts me. You are part of the problem.
So how come cops always seems to shot and kill the black man without a weapon but the white guy who shot up an elementary school is taken into custody without incidence? Cops seems to inherently see black men as constant threats. I guess maybe they identify with angry white men so they feel more comfortable handling…
police also said that a mental health crisis team was not available
One of the officers involved should have been fired a long time ago;
Isn’t that just called ‘training’?
Wow.
I believe the word you are looking for is Tazer.
Suicide by cop? You saying he WANTED to die?
Well, considering recent precedent the officer to elected for a non-lethal solution should be fired soon for putting the other officer in danger. After that they can hold the ceremony to give the killer their gold policing medal.
This is the whole “law and order” thing Trump keeps bloviating about, right?
People are talking about reducing murder mandatory minimums to 3 years, and you want to leave rape up past 5?
Agree. And apologies for the length, but: Hell, EVERY criminal statute, federal or state, runs the risk (obvious and apparent, as to current laws) (practically certain, as to future criminal statutes) of being disproportionately applied to minorities. And (just my opinion) it’s even bigger than the drug laws, even…
There’s an incredibly high rate of incarceration for relatively minor crimes (especially drug possession, etc.). We need to decriminalize drug use and replace that with making treatment available, for starters. There’s lots of other crimes that are too harshly punished, as well. Rape is not one of them.
I doubt Cosby ever thought he would be facing consequences for his sexual assaults. Even if Cosby never sets foot inside of a jail (and he probably never will), his legacy is still garbage.
Why would they be shitting their pants? The requirements for convictions haven’t changed other than time not ruling out a trial and since they likely have competent lawyers they likely would easily be able to beat any charge that goes to trial. I mean without DNA evidence most DA’s are unlikely to press for a trial…
