I was all “FUCK YEAH GIRL” until that. Sigh.
I’m not seeing a “sorry” in your response to the OP. If you don’t have tattoos and don’t have the capacity for cognitive empathy (which seems likely), maybe you should shut the fuck up about tattoos.
Sounds like sleep paralysis to me. If you’re able to access medical care, see if you can get a night-time prescription for clonidine or a similar drug. I got put on it for fun PTSD nightmares but one time when I couldn’t get a refill in time I had multiple sleep paralysis episodes and it works for me to keep them away.
Uh, most people wonder whether they’ll like something many years in the future before they get it permanently etched into their skin. What the fuck kinda question is that? The OP said that the artist fucked up. As a designer you should be aware that sometime artists fuck up and that their clients have a right to be…
This also includes admitting things we’re self-conscious about. LiL, it’s okay to say something like “I don’t have a lot of experience giving oral and it’s something I’m self-conscious about, but I want to learn how. Can you please tell me what works and what doesn’t and be patient with me while I figure it out?”…
This was lovely. Thanks for sharing it, Aimée!
Sigh. Hopefully someone will fix it by morning.
Is his name actually spelled “Micheal”?
I had seen that you already covered that topic in your posts to Zukka. I simply shared my experience. I did not say or imply that my experience was a common one nor did I contradict the information that you already provided to Zukka. I trusted that someone who is aware enough to ask overtly for more information could…
I never said it was.
How it’s used in my social circle, the Q in the acronym covers identities like genderqueer and intersex folks. “Queer” in my understanding simply means “not straight and/or cis”, almost like an antonym of straight. I identified as queer for a long time until I finally figured out my deal (basically, I was/am a lesbian…
This sums up my feelings nicely.
I cosign all of this. There’s really no elegant solution to asking/receiving accommodations for invisible disabilities so I’m not here to criticize this approach towards making things a little easier.
There’s debate about it. In my experience, younger folks tend to see it as a blanket term that avoids excluding groups and is neater than the alphabet soup acronym. Older folks tend to not want it to be used as a blanket term because of its history as a slur. I use LGBTQ to be safe but basically there’s no consensus…
Nice job with that false equivalency. Read about suicide contagion and shut up.
My old (tiny) high school had three students attempt in two weeks. Other students are directly connecting the attempts to this show and even more were sent into tailspins as a result of watching it. Fuck this shit.
Whoa, thank you so much for all this reading material! I appreciate you putting it all together. I’m sure it’s all going to be a depressing read but it’s unfortunate how relevant it is today, as you say.
Do you possibly have a book or article recommendation for more information? I’m fascinated (and horrified) by this and would love to learn more but my GoogleFu is failing me.
I’ll double your money. Let’s start a GoFundMe and make this shit happen.
