‘big safe SUV’

This isn’t a big safe SUV, though. It’s a small (tiny) crossover with a high CoG.

But think of all the added complexity you get. It’s well worth a premium for all the complexity alone.

A couple of years after the shock of its styling had worn off

Wait.. so the Sport version has 9 more HP.... that does not sound too sporty

I’ve heard of the valve issues on the LS7, but this is honestly the first I’m hearing of a C6 being unreliable. Plus I was under the impression that an LS7 with the valve fix was pretty bulletproof, even at the track.

I wouldn’t paint the C6 with such a broad brush. The LS7 valve issues are well documented, but, the LS2 and LS3 are generally considered bullet proof, being they’re basically a GM truck motor.

Big V8s are the eeeasiest cars to learn stick on. That low end torque makes it very easy to pull away without needing too much finesse

Actually I’ve heard that learning stick on a higher horsepower car is a good idea.. the power saves what would normally be a stall.

How about 35k for an XLR and an LS7 to put in it?

This was, and might still be, one of my dream cars when I was younger. I love how the C6 looks, I love the sound it makes, and the only reason I don’t have one parked in my garage is because I didn’t think I could make it a practical daily driver. I also think trying to learn how to stick shift on a Corvette, a Z06 no

There’s also this

Mine is wrapped - it’s a 3M color called Gloss Glacier Grey that I’m very happy with. There’s a fairly similar OEM color called Night Race Blue but I think it was only offered in 2012-3 for the C6es

Absolutely agreed. That’s why I bought this 3 months ago:

Ah yes, the old ‘Askhole’

Damn you for being so right

This is why experienced car people just tell you to buy whatever you’re already thinking of buying, because we know you won’t take our advice.

You know when the guy driving the pontoon boat has a helmet and PFD on you’re in for a treat. Good times
