It’s a huge stretch. It’s a bad song, but he’s pretty clearly complaining about politicians in DC. He wouldn’t have singled out Rich Men if he meant to include, say, rural Pennsylvanians. And a real Lost Causer wouldn’t drop little hints, there would at least be a line about the thing they hate the most: the tearing

I mean he says “not just”. I think he’s saying they should look out for miners in addition to minors, and it’s a very awkward line.

Hmm, I have not found any of that to be true in my playthrough. From what you are saying (enemies have twice the hit points) it sounds like you went into a major story battle under leveled. If you were the same level as the enemies you were fighting, you would have been in the same ballpark for HP.

The AVClub is really covering on Days Of Our Lives now? Looks like we checked the last box on the tabloid checklist.

His take on Americans wanting black and white morality is easily disprovable: the massive success of Game Of Thrones is why Netflix greenlit The Witcher.

Well if there’s one thing the WAG/SAG strike has taught us: you don’t have to worry about him making any residuals off this.

I mean, those Nolan movies had zero scenes where a superhero’s beloved father criticizes that hero for saving children instead of watching them drown. So I do think they were closer to normal.

Yea the phrasing like “DC responded with Th Dark Knight Trilogy’ implies the comic book company made those movies.  It didn’t.

Yea I think that’s a big part of it for Netflix, which never quite made sense to me. Why encourage viewers to binge when you want them to stay subscribed over months?

Honestly I think this applies to every show. Watching Poker Face and even Mrs. Davis reminded me how much better a truly episodic approach is than the Netflix approach of an 8 hour plot cut into hour-long chunks.

Bud Light is a good comparison to The Witcher, because 1) it has bad fans and 2) it’s also a shitty product despite having the right politics (temporarily in Bud’s case) making it very easy for those bad fans to turn on it.

Yea ironically, the fact that diversity is incorrectly scapegoated as the problem with show by some racist fans, also allows the incorrect scapegoating of fan racism as the sole reason many people don’t jibe with this show.

Yes he is mocked mercilessly at independent cinemas everywhere, like the beloved New Beverly Cinema.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with Macguffins or violence, like anything else they can be overused or used poorly. And QTs dialog isn’t pointless just because it isn’t exposition. It establishes characters and adds texture.

The trailers for the film don’t even try to hide the fact that the central plot seems to focus on Barbie in the midst of existential crisis.

Well yea, people don’t usually say technically unless they are only technically correct. But technically speaking, you do play as Cid in FF16.

The best gameplay comparison to this game is Nier Automata. It’s a RPG in narrative scope with an ARPG combat system.

I get what youre saying, but I don’t actually think deep mechanical freedom is an essential part of an RPG. I think the world, scope of story, and characters are what makes a Role Playing Game.

See and I'm tired of people trying to convince me its not, even though they have no say in the matter.

Would you consider FF11, FF12, FF14, FF15, and FF7R to be part of the traditional JRPG catalog? Because IMO those first 3 play much closer to traditional western MMOs than games like DQ or Phantasy Star. And the last 2 are their own thing.
