I once was at the parts store, waiting at the counter for the associate to grab a part from the stockroom. Another associate was helping a customer pick out new tail light bulbs, and I heard them say this:

Will it junkyard? Really - go pickup some Jeep parts at the pick’n’pull and toss em across that tan backseat.

Cool, would love to know how Hertz is as a rental company!

Good thing you can avoid “extensive body work” by simply converting the entire body of a Miata to that of a Mustang... /s

Yeah, so many major issues with this...which is unfortunate, as at it’s core, it’s a neat idea to help those who want to wrench but don’t have the space.

Yeah - the time thing I know well. I set out to “slap a motor” in an ‘82 Mustang in early December. I was going to thrash on it, just to get it running over a weekend.

Almost 2 months later it’s still there. It was turning out too nice, so scope creep...new proper dual exhaust, replaced the SROD for a T5, redoing fuel

My thoughts exactly. And the implications are way more than an AirBnb type setup. Wrenching on cars is inherently more dangerous.

While I did see a brief reference, and hopefully didn’t miss more - one concern I’d have would be insurance. Having an inexperienced person come to your garage, rent it out, and then proceed to drop a car on their chest - how are you protected from a homeowner perspective?

This is NP for the right buyer. The person who wants a car you don’t see very often, and of which there are probably not many that survived a horrible junkyard crusher death. You want to save something that today is rarely seen, and 20 years from now will be that odd car at the antique car show people stop to look at

I’ll give the a $3k clean/honest Allante a NP. It deserves it. The Allante could have been so much more, I feel for it, and thus it deserves the benefit of the NP doubt.

It may not just to be to comment on the depreciation, but to say that you can now get a 400+ (from the factory) Mustang in great shape for less than half the cost of a new one.

When the 400+ horse factory Mustang came out in 2012, 7 years prior it was a 300hp 3v motor for 2005, you’d take a 112hp hit to go used (stock).

I should have read comments before my post as well - I saw the same thing!

Is it just me or is that hood scoop mounted crooked?

I like that idea!! There are so many different cars to experience, I commend anyone who can really focus on trying out as many as possible! I bet that does make for great conversation as well

Nah - it’s just light humor/satire.

I should edit this to say the physician exits the car wearing coveralls, meaning they do the work themselves. Because your scenario would definitely throw a curve ball on my surgery lol

Honestly, as you are a physician - image matters.

One of my concerns has always been the locked in feeling of being on the ship - not really in control to leave if you decide you don’t want to be there. I’ve been on charter boats in rough seas as day trips, and do decently there from a sea-sickness standpoint, but they were also short day trips - more things were in

The one argument that does offer sway, is that cruises with several destinations during their route offer a cost effective way to see several areas during one trip, while also having stuff to do in-between excursions.

tl;dr:
