I live in ward 3, amongst a bunch of rich old people and American U students. I got an invitation to join Next Door from an unnamed neighbor. The main appeal was to “post and read about suspicious activity in the neighborhood”.

I was not trying to be dismissive of gendered dress codes, and I apologize if my post came off as such.
Some of us don’t really like putting things in certain holes. One of mine is off-limits because it does nothing for me.
Hypocrisy is also steeped in our Puritanical roots. The Puritans left England, where they were seen as a cult of fanatics, to escape “religious persecution” and came to America where they can shun and prosecute anyone who doesn’t follow their beliefs. Especially those darn Natives who had the audacity to be here…
Western society - especially us Americans with our puritanical roots - has long been uncomfortable with women showing off theirs arms and legs. I roll my eyes at such restrictions, but I don’t think we’re going to see the end of tank top and short skirt bans anytime soon (and I admit I do instinctively grasp my pearls…
I agree with you for the most part but
Yeah, though I do wish they would allow more customization of packs. Like, I bought seasons and vampires, but I don’t always want to play with seasons or vampires. In Sims 3 you got to toggle that shit on and off from the launcher.

Excellent choice. I’m more of a houseplant mom myself [photo not available].
When you consider the fact that a large part of history consisted of arranged marriage (or social pressure to settle down early with the first guy who shows interest), taking women as spoils of war, sex trafficking, and other injustices against women, it’s fair to say that a large segment of the world population was…
There are only two types of people in this world: boy moms and girl moms. You can’t have both, you have to pick one.
I liked dolls and princesses and dinosaurs and trucks. My younger brother (cis-male), despite having access to the same stuff I did and the same parents I did, only liked dinosaurs and trucks (and stuffed animals, but MANLY stuffed animals). He naturally gravitated towards the masculine while I liked both the feminine…
Hey, no one ever helped me! Except from the ages of 0 to 18, where I was unable to physically (and legally) care for myself. I guess my parents helped with that.
The answer is that Mitch McConnell is a sandwich.
My pun game is weak.
I get what you’re going for, Splinter, but the headline is misleadingly harsh. I was bracing myself to read that Mayor Pete groped someone or wore blackface. On the one hand, it got me to click on the article, but so would the headline “Pete Buttigieg doesn’t know how soap works”.
Uh, uh, Ajax
Yeah, I’d say you’re cursed. I don’t even recall D.C. weather being that bad on 8/7, just a standard thunderstorm (I assume, I don’t remember the weather from a week ago).
It’s hard for Trump to imagine wild-ass concepts like “self-sacrifice” and “giving a shit about something other than yourself”. Granted, I think the Japanese government was wrong to encourage suicide attacks, but I don’t blame the individual soldiers who got caught up in the madness.
