Seriously. I work in comms and PR for a living. Plenty of writing. And even in my somewhat elevated position, do I just throw out whatever I want without second eyes? Nope.

You’re adopting the same framing as Davis, where anyone who criticizes her is a troll trying to bring down her greatness. She was bad in a movie. You’re right that it shouldn’t be the end of the world for Davis, but it also isn’t something people have to ignore to protect the ego of a very rich, very famous person.

The issue is that the real higher up at studios want big decade running franchise that makes lots of movies but a lot of the middle man exec actually putting in the work to get things made know that their jobs are one disaster away from going away so they are always trying to score that one big payout movie.
