Judging by Apple's tendencies with products, if they took over cable, I'd end up with something that cost about twice what it does now, even though it's already over priced, and would have fewer choices in what to do than I do now. But at least it would probably come in a prettier box that would look nicer sitting…

Yup, I grew up in Tennessee and my entire family is still there. I recall feeling a few in Knoxville in college, but West Tennessee especially is up for a doosey sometime soon.
