I also dig the college bball narratives. But to be fair, Iowa State really played good basketball last year. Fred Hoiberg is a hell of a coach, and I really enjoy watching those guys play (I'm an SDSU fan, FWIW). DeAndre Kane and Melvin Ejim are straight-up NASTY, and they're a legitimate Elite 8/Final 4 contender.

I'm buying what you're selling.

I'll be watching, but I think Bama wins this one in the first half. The few times I saw the Sooners play this year, I wasn't too impressed with Blake Bell, nor with their defense (apart from their freshman cornerback whose name I can't remember). 41-20 Bama.

Wife and I just watched Prisoners. One that I didn't know a lot about going into, which is rare, but a very good film. Dark, well paced, and a satisfying ending. Cheers!

I've got Crimson Tide on now. There have been plenty of times I've taken it off the shelf and put it back because I just couldn't get on that roller coaster at the moment.

It's an easy message to ignore because it's kinda beside the point. (I'm not even sure if it could be aimed at any specific entity. The Agriculture Company has hit-men on staff in the movie, so its not realistically criticizing them. Also, the company's product does not have a comparable counterpoint in the news.

I liked it. I didn't think it was preachy. It obviously had a "message" it wanted to send, but the film was able to overcome it. I thought it said more about people and what lengths they'll go to rather than espousing an agenda.

I straight-up busted my mom when I was 8 or so. She had stashed my brother's present in my closet and forgotten about it, and woke me up when she was getting it out. Apparently she cried, but I kinda liked the fact that Santa didn't exist. It was cooler to know that I had a mom who was willing to go to RIDICULOUSLY

I've always thought it was strange how we visit that lie upon our children. There really isn't another comparison in life in terms of adults conspiring to tell one gigantic lie, however good their intentions, to their offspring. Maybe it puts a fine point on growing up, as a sort of rite of passage, and you could

My 9 yr. old used some deductive reasoning to conclude that Santa does not exist. There were some tears and the use of the word 'bummer' but otherwise he was OK. When I was told, I cried all the way home, talked to my mom and cried some more. My boy might be a champ.

Coat the bird with canola oil. 30 minutes at 500 F. Drop the heat to 350 F. 2 and half hours at 350.

If you don't put butter on a pbj, gtfo

Talent on talent on talent. The problem with both teams come tourney time is that they're both kinda soft in the front court. Unless Jabari Parker starts playing more in the paint, Duke won't be much of a force inside. Same goes for Arizona and their 7-footer who plays like he's 6'5.

Now playing

This is pretty much my relationship with Spoon. Circa 2003 my friend burned me a mix cd that had this on it:

I was disappointed that A Silent Film only had one album prior to Sand and Snow.

The Bourne Identity is my go to entertainment whenever I'm feeling blue. That movie will never get old.

She was the worst. I never babysat again after that summer.

I worked at the camp store at a local campsite for a few months. There was a young couple that had hitched across the country from Southern California and had lived on the campsite well past the two-week limit because no one had the heart to kick 'em out. They were unemployed and basically homeless, and their campsite

From what I've read "Captain Phillips" is pure Captain Phillips propaganda.
