I'm watching "Pioneers" on the NHL network and was reminded that Johnny Bower made it to the "Big League" at the age of 33/34 and played for 10 years. Is there some sort of equivalent in any other major sport? Maybe someone 28 or older? I can't think of anyone.

I can't think of any other way that it would have happened. (certainly not nearly unanimous commenter dissent, which may have been a clue)

I just followed you so that's another strike. You're screwed...

Thanks jezebel, for the intervention. Gawker, kudos to you as well-understanding that you have a problem is the first step towards correcting it.

That is the ugliest puppy I've ever seen!

DO NOT tease me!

Nate Newton remembers when snort practice always went smoothly.

I shouldn't slag the in-laws but slag I shall. No matter how the steak is cooked they are stunned that the steaks that they get at the family get-together have cross-marks on them just like the steaks on the commercials they see.

The solution? Canada. We have our problems but our country isn't (almost) broken beyond repair.

Perhaps we have something in common. I have subjected the family (over short periods of time) to multiple servings of chicken noodle soup, chili, fettucine alfredo, ribs (dry rub, sticky sauce, vinegary sauce), shepherd's pie, lasagna, stir fry's, beef stews, etc., etc.

THAT! was funny.

I'm a huge fan of Deadspin but I'm glad this happened. Kinja needs to be re-thunk-hopefully this gives certain folks the impetus to do so.

With any luck, she'll be mercilessly booed every time she shows up at a game

I hope for his sake there is nothing in the Koran about defying the laws of gravity.

I thought the guy would stick around for awhile longer. Goddammit!

Nolan Richardson's Hall of Fame induction speech is an entertaining beast.
