I’m turbo cynical at the moment, but... he was trying to commit suicide IN FRONT OF his girlfriend so she’d have to watch. It’s possible that he was an abuser and this was one of his techniques.

MRAs have a point when they say that men’s internal feelings aren’t taken into consideration.

When people commit suicide by train, the conductor gets two weeks paid leave and counseling. I hope these people can also get therapy if they need it- it wasn't their fault, but the survivors guilt doesn't make that easy to accept.
