If only "not well acquainted with dealing with survivors" didn't seem to be the default the world over. There could be a mass rape festival complete after which every single victim gave a statement, and going forward we'd still be hearing some version of, "Rape, what is it? DERP!" from law enforcement in that

"Detective Inspector Bruce Scott put it this way: "None of the girls have been brave enough (emphasis mine) to make formal statements to us so we can take that to a prosecution stage."

That was Kylie — the other one. This one requested a 1976 Dodge truck for a car and was upset that the whole family always makes fun of her lack of glam. I'm not saying she won't turn out horrible anyway, but she does seem like the most naturally down to earth and likeable. Kendall's the sporty one who likes

If/when I have kids, I plan on utilizing reverse psychology and guilt as much as possible.

A slow clap for your mention of economics and working class women, who are less likely to spend time parsing feminist theory or denouncing the very existence of porn.

I don't get it, either. It seems clear to me that she was a distraction to the cause, but I don't care for the far-more-strategic and pleasant Gloria Steinem, either. It's not Dworkin's physical appearance and image that I'm against. It's her stated views, her dogmatism, and her hypocrisy.

There is literally nothing in this world that creates Instant Douchebag like one of those stupid tall hats with the flat brim. As if Biebs needed any help in that department.

I can't help but think that America's teen starts would all be better off with British handlers. As long as they are not Simon Cowell.

I feel like what some here still aren't getting is that it is possible to reject Dworkin from a feminist perspective, and doing so doesn't necessarily require the context of wave theory, either. Some seem to believe that if you're anti-Dworkin and MacKinnon, you're against them for the same reasons that Rush Limbaugh

I agree with this, and just to be clear, I'm not in the habit of telling people I'm a feminist, but not a Dworkin feminist. That's asinine. I don't generally feel the need to qualify in that way. I think she's a boogeyman not just for third-wave feminists, but misogynists as well. Because of that, we should be

"I don't think that you've phrased this in a completely honest way."

nods vigorously

Nailed it.

I couldn't agree more. Many of the arguments against her were feminist ones. It wasn't just the freakin' John Birch society. Pretending Dworkin's an anomaly isn't helpful either. She was exceptionally unlikeable, but the basis for her beliefs didn't form in a vacuum. I don't care for Gloria Steinem, either, which

Fuck yes. PREACH.

Who the fuck refers to David Duchovny as an "X-Files costar??" Our media is infested with children born in the 90s.

"If you have not found at least one feminist who says shit that appalls the living shit out of you, you haven't read enough of them."

I agree season 2 was campier and less focused. I guess I appreciated it for what it was. I understand the wariness about the level of rape-iness in season 2 as well, but I think it was handled well. Zachary Quinto and James Cromwell were chilling, and Sarah Paulson rocked the revenge fantasy angle.

I loved Season 2 of AHS so much that it kind of hurts my feelings a little bit that you didn't like it.

I have this image of a sort of "book club" for ghosts where instead of discussing a book, the ghosts get together and swap stories about the people they made poop their pants that week.
