That was a good show, I hadn’t seen the Old 97’s before that. I was a little down on the truckers set list since they just kind of alternated Patterson and Cooley songs for 90 or so minutes.

Berkman’s freedom to say what he believes is not some sort of shield against being criticized over what he says because he’s apparently too much of a coward to stand up to the criticism.

Everyone can state their beliefs. There is no guarantee that people won’t criticize you for them, however.

what a concept!

I’d watch a League Two match between Dag&Red and Crawley Town over an MLS match. England can send whoever they like.

Seriously, this. “I went you every home game when we were losing 100+ per year”. Well that must have been miserable. I don’t go to concerts of bands that suck now either.

My favorite thing are the blowhards - usually in cities like KC - are so quick to point out the devilish features of “bandwagon” fans, and like to bitch about people being entertained by Steph Curry or LeBron James, but those areas have crowds like this once they are good. 10 years ago, you would have had free beer to

“[...]and except for Steve Bartman, he would’ve guided the Cubs to their first World Series since 1945.”

When the follow-up reports are growing indistinguishable from those that follow shootings or car wrecks (stabilize....surgery....extremities....), it makes being a fan of all this more and more difficult.

Christ. I have one that I don’t want.

In 1980 he “led” the Phillies to the world series as one of the worst defensive players in baseball while slugging only .350 with a single HR? Alrighty then. In 1981 his .325 was partly due to being platooned to avoid lefties, it was barely enough to make him an average player that season. In 1985 he “slugged” .319,

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:

Hell vs empty, pointless card table in a Vegas casino hour after hour, day after day. Is there actually any difference?

Is there really anything left that doesn’t already have his signature on it? Seriously. Have you ever been to Cooperstown? I saw an 8x10” of Mookie Wilson that had Pete Rose’s signature. Not even kidding.

It’s the one race where he got caught in an early speed duel and burned himself out. Frosted set suicidal fractions and Pharaoh went after him. Even then he still almost won.

For some of us, that “feeling better” was a weird, tingly sensation in our brain that we now call ASMR. For many people who get ASMR tingles, Bob Ross’s soft voice and spoken cadence were the first triggers they were exposed to.

I dunno if we can trust these guys if they list Jim Bottomley’s 12 RBI record without mentioning it was tied, and they kept saying that Bonds had 71 instead of 73 home runs. Personally I think the greatest record is the Career Wins.

Except basketball is a bad sport. Oh, a basket! There will be literally 100 more of those, so just skip to the last 3 minutes.

Baseball is a relic of a gone-and-forgotten America eulogized only by assholes like Keith Olbermann and George F. Will.

Ouch. Nearly cut myself on all that edge.
