Even niche cable networks that are making money staying true to their founding principle eventually start to suspect that they could make MORE money doing something else - something more diluted, something more broadly accessible, something less unique, something more outrageous. See every “educational” cable channel

When I moved in September I decided to try life without cable. I subscribe to NHL.tv and go to friends when there is a game on I want to watch. I haven't watched a minute of ESPN in six months and I don't miss it one bit.

Hey, question. Do we really NEED ESPN anymore? Maybe we can cut cords and stop watching and these shitheels will fade away, huh?

I have only commented on one other article on any website in my life. As a female who teaches Criminology on the college level it astounds me that not only the hotel would put a public figure at physical risk, but then her employer would put her at psychological risk in regards to this stalker. I have no doubt this

Seriously, fuck ESPN. The only way they could have been more tone deaf would have been if they made her do the interview in a goddamn bikini.

I recently canceled my cable TV and signed up for Sling TV so I could still get ESPN. This seriously has me rethinking that decision. It’s so goddamn disgusting. Her word should have been enough.

That whole election cycle. Every campaign was weird or sad in some way. I suppose that’s the case with every election it’s just that one we got to see more of.

Now playing

Did you ever see this documentary Feed about the 1992 Democratic primaries?

“There are detailed charts. It’s like being trapped in an elevator with a low-level analyst”

Most memorable line: “That giant sucking sound you hear is the sound of your jobs moving to Mexico.”

I agree. I voted for Clinton in 92 but I thought Perot's informercials were a smart and informative campaign tactic. It's easy to lob bombs at them from 2016, two decades into the internet digital age. In 92 informercials were somewhat cutting-edge for a campaign. By 96 it was "town hall" style question and answer

Perot the Man may have been comedy gold, but his predictions about the effect of NAFTA were spot on. And continue to be vindicated. As evidenced by Carrier moving 2,100 manufacturing jobs from Indiana to Monterrey, Mexico.

That man was a goddamn national hero who got a bum rap for being a bad politician. Just sayin’.

Remember when campaigns took occasional breaks from bullshit identity politics and discussed the issues?

I might not agree with his politics, but damn I respect his ability to get into the weeds with the actual meat of his campaign in long format with visual aids.

This is the most artful tweet I have ever seen

Drew is 100% Correct.

“.why the fuck would anyone ever go into a physical book store”

It’s kind of a dick move, so if you do make sure to tip the poor bastard who shows up very well.

Rex: ok, interview question #1. Take off your shoes and socks.
