Yeah, these "E-paper" and "Flex-Displays" have been around for a while now. They are cool, but their uses are limited. While the screen is flexible, they still need a rigid CPU, PSU, battery and all the other control circuitry. This article covers the circuitry which may one day be able to have advanced chip

Glad this made the front page. ePub support is "coming soon", so it's just XPS for now.

@faucher: Yeah, their website says it has ePub support, but I was unable to get any ePubs to load. This was supposed to be released back in January, then July, then August... here we are at the end of September and it's finally released. Perhaps they scrubbed ePub for now to get it out the door, or for legal

@rHughes: iPod support is coming, along with android, mac and linux. At that point the syncing will be a standard function. It's hard to review now, because we don't have the iPod and Android readers yet.

@e.stanton: That's a good idea. There are a lot of "Homebrew" classes out here already, but perhaps affiliating with one of them would bring in some business. Offer a tour and sponsor a class with a donation of Hops. In exchange, someone takes the class to the orchard, ensuring they are able to find it, are exposed

@suburbancowboy: Yeah. I'm actually planning on planting an orchard next year and opening a U-pick farm in Western NY (just outside Rochester). I just closed on the property, planting starts in the spring.

@Xorlathor: Looking at the features list, I would guess it should work just as well.

@Xorlathor: Contig is a popular program. It's a simple command line tool. Just point it to the individual file you want defragged and let it work it's magic. A lot of people recommend using it on .iso files, (or bin/cue) It's not needed for them, a disc image is ripped from a disc which is contiguousness, and the

@Pyroponce: As an abrasive, they're the same. But BKF is a potent acid, which brightens metals. Most powders are alkaline. Think back to basic chemistry. Acid works well with metals, but things that are alkaline (bleach, ammonia etc) will rust stainless steel, or at minimum dull it.

@skrutop: NO. It's an acid which corrodes many metals, and an abrazive that will scratch the surface. Use only for uncoated stainless and aluminum.

Another useful tip: The sanding sponges will make it go a lot faster. For use on hard metals like stainless steel, or aluminum since it won't remove the oxide layer (not copper cookware). Also works on glass ceramics (not glazed). Aside from removing just about anything, these last 20-30 times longer than any other

@oneshot719: Such an app is unnecessary if you use quality ram and don't run programs with memory leaks. For gamers, the most likely sources of memory leaks are actually game addons, trainers, and mods that are poorly written by amateur developers. If you use such things, a RAM cleaner may be a good idea in some

Here's my list, I usually start it around Halloween. It takes me one weekend.

Vote: Jinni

@HeadsetChatter: I'm not sure about Safari on Mac, but the crashes are cross-platform. It generally has to do with memory allocation on windows and Linux (I assume Mac as well), and hardware acceleration. The method they use for off-loading preprocessing to the GPU is a bit flakey with the current drivers for many

At this point, it's not about how well IE9 works. There is a principal involved, MS has lost a lot of the consumer's trust over the years. Even if the software is flawless and proved to be the fastest, most stable and secure option available, the policies and practices they implement in it's design negate the

@Robotronic: "and, yet, here we are." lol, point taken.

@schunniky: Good catch. Don't know why I typed that.

@sunspot72: I don't know about "extreme porn". I occasionally work to translate sites for syndication in English, and some of the more open and progressive cultures come up with sickest stuff imaginable. The fact that women in my area don't walk around topless at the beach or breast feed in public, that co-workers
