Do you realize that by posting multiple sprawling rants about your aversion to so-called SJWs, you are clearly delineating yourself as somebody who is equally fanatical in their beliefs?
Trying my goddamn hardest not to be oblivious, so maybe I’m lucky, or, maybe it has something to do with the fact that I work at what’s arguably the most socially progressive University in Canada (Concordia in Montreal).

I’m not going to deny that sexism exists everywhere, including scientific locales, but, having spent the last 5 years working within academia as a molecular biologist, I must say that I’ve never never witnessed anything as egregious as what’s described in the article.
Girls doesn’t deserve the amount of hate it receives, but it’s by no means a great show (I stopped watching sometime in season 2...). This realization becomes all the more apparent when you watch a similar show that’s done better.
Not what I’m trying to say. Biology can use all the exposure it can get.
My day-to-day life isn’t all that different than any molecular biologist, i.e. I squirt minute quantities of one liquid into another, ad nauseum.
The BioDesign Studio is probably the only chance a regular human will get to experience what it’s like to be a synthetic biologist for the day.
