I have a pitch for a story where Ms Marvel and She-Hulk team up for a colorful dimension-hopping sci-fi adventure that’s also a deep dive into American civics and the rough-and-tumble world of amateur bowling leagues. CALL ME MARVEL
She’s always had bad posture, even in the first Avengers movie.
Haha, I totally misread that! I missed the first word in the headline, so I thought it said “Avengers: Infinity War still goes back to Wakanda” and I was like, “Yeah, no shit!”
The remake has one good action sequence (the one in the bar), although it ends in a pretty goofy way, with a Rube Goldberg-esque death. The other action scenes are pretty short and generic, and the climatic one in particular has no sense of pacing or suspense.
It’s been a long time since I saw Harry Brown, but I remember it being kind of interesting in terms of how it deals with the reactionary elements of the vigilante genre. I do think it’s ultimately a right-wing movie (it is produced by Matthew Vaughan, who literally directed a Conservative Party election broadcast, and…
Falling Down is an underrated movie, and it feels pretty prescient for the rages of today. I remember hating the ending, but it’s pretty solid up to that.
Solaris? Really? I like Soderbergh fine, but nobody can touch Tarkovsky. He’s not even in the same league, and I imagine he’d admit as much.
Memento is still my favorite of his.
Turns out they sank all their money into draughthouse.com, and now we’re all doomed to drink beer from kegs instead of cans or bottles.

I only recently found out that Beria was a serial rapist-murderer. Having him in charge of the secret police sounds like something a hack writer would come up with.
This is a film that somehow made me end up feeling pity for a mass torturer, notorious rapist, and one of the most evil men in 20th century history.
Fingers crossed that this comes to my neck of the woods.
I liked them both equally.
“but the original film consists of a permanently damp Stellan Skarsgård stomping around clinically lit, minimalist spaces, his life gradually transforming into a waking nightmare.”
The original INSOMNIA was such a better movie than Nolan’s that I’m surprised Nolan hasn’t tried to buy up and destroy all copies of his version.
I still remember being amazed years ago when I bought the complete Platinum Collection of Evangelion on DVD for $35 at Wal-Mart. The whole series set was slightly larger than one VHS tape, which way back in the day would have had two episodes and cost $25-35.
They will, but they’ll be exclusive to Media Play.
Will they also be releasing the VHS box sets? I have $500 dollars burning a hole in my pocket and I’d like to watch 4 episodes of something.
