Zarya was the perfect next pick of a Overwatch hero for Heroes of the Storm. Tossing shields to allies to get herself beefed up in the heat of combat is a great wildcard factor in a game like this. Plus, that Expulsion Zone skill is a cool new ability too. I’d never thought of reversing her ult when imagining her in

Writing a line for someone to come into the studio and record is a whole lot less work than designing an entire map. Don’t worry, some new voice lines aren’t any indication that maps aren’t being worked on nor are they slowing down the progress on new maps. It’s very likely that the people designing new maps have

Ok, so just to clarify, you *have* actually looked at Paladins, right? Your analogy is sound but it really doesn’t apply here. It’s not just gameplay design similarities, they even straight up copied some of the character models. It’s so... obvious. How are you not seeing it?

Today in news: Blizzard tried to re-brand an app an no one cares. Gaming continues as normal.

OMG this comment section is so edgy!

Wow, this took me nearly an hour. It’s like the geometry of that mountain is designed to send you flying away from it if you have just the slightest fault in the trajectory of your jump. Super frustrating but satisfying to finally get to the top.

... So, is your sarcasm supposed to imply that Paladins isn’t an obvious Overwatch ripoff? Because, seriously, have you actually looked? It is.

YES! I’m so glad to see other people finally talking about this! JRPG didn’t come to mind for me personally, but I’ve always thought some of these themes were surprisingly epic and very reminiscent of something you’d hear in a video game... I thought I was the only one.

To clarify as there seems to be a lot of confusion in the comments section about this, subtitles ARE implemented in Destiny and they’re fairly robust. The problem is that some things, such as random voice lines that may trigger as you walk by an NPC, don’t show a subtitle.

I love Blizzard and have enjoyed many of their stories, to include D3, but to claim Draenor had a good story is one helluva reach. The amount of retcons and/or complete lore dismissals to make that overly convoluted plot unfold was criminal.

That said, your other statement of what it’s problems were is spot on. Though

You... wot? No, that’s not true at all. Go, try it. Your framerate will *not* drop by half.

Wow, helluva post there.

There’s a lot of stuff to debate here but frankly that’s absurd for the middle of a Kotaku comments section.

So, my short response is:
A) Really shitty and poor argument style to basically say, “You’re so wrong it’s not even worth my time!” then spend three more sizable paragraphs explaining why

“Why don’t they just release systems like this, instead of with all those money-wasting features to unnecessarily drive up the cost and price that they just remove when the slim or s models come out?”

Playing Lucio is the saddest yet most rewarding thing. Yes, you win a lot of games but that PotG? It ‘aint coming. Keep healing, DJ, you get no rewards for your work.

“If it weren’t, then it wouldn’t be”

Wait, PS4 wasn’t already capturing at 1080p? Why? I get streaming at 720p/30fps on a 3Mbps or lower bitrate, it just makes sense, but why was it ever recording at less than the source resolution?

Running a game at 4k resolution is actually a much smaller hit to performance than most people think. A lot of the frame drops come from other sources like post-processing effects, when it comes to modern games. People severely over-estimate how big of a deal this whole 4k thing is.

However I do share your concern

The PS3's superior power was all theoretical, though. The Cell processor was only as powerful as how well the programmers could figure out to optimize for it.

An argument could be made that because the 360 used more common and non-propitiatory architecture it was more powerful simply because developers actually knew

What?

I have one GTX 970, no SLI, and my GeForce Experience constantly tries to set my games to super-sample at near 4k resolution. I have to go in and manually adjust it to ensure everything is set to 1080 because I don’t want that extra load and want the extra frames.

Now playing

Oh snap! That synth bass guitar at 2:17 though!
