Science has gone too far!... TOO FAR!!

Two features that’ll have a huge impact on if I purchase this re-re-release:
1. Does it have local (splitscreen) multiplayer for both co-op and competitive?
2. Does it have online multiplayer?

If each of the five games included in this compilation are as good as or nearly so to their stand-alone counterparts, this will be a must buy.

The GameBoy Advance SP was probably my most loved redesign in portable history. That console just felt... right.

Right, I’m just making an argument for why they changed the delivery to avoid copyright. I’d bet it’s all intentional.

Agreed. This game felt like a overflowing climax of a love letter to old-school FPS fans. I think, after Doom 3, ID Software took a note from the likes of ‘Brutal Doom’ and realized their demographic just wanted to go slaughter mass hordes of demons in the most brutal way. ID delivered.

I’d just buy it. The extra maps they’re releasing for multiplayer are no reason to hold out on what is a fantastically crafted old-school singleplayer campaign.

New Doom is leagues ahead of what the wanna-be scary game Doom 3 was. It feels through the entire campaign like a true sequel to the old Dooms. It’s not the next coming of the genre by any means, but it’s so true to it’s roots that anyone who loves some old-school FPS can’t help but smile while playing it. I’d highly

The only reason you’d replay new Doom is the same reason you’d replay the old series. To re-experience it or to master a harder difficulty.

Hmm, never really made that connection myself but I guess if you dig into the lore via the menus, yeah, it is kinda like Metroid Prime that it doesn’t force-feed you any lore but it’s all readily available in in-depth.

Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, Doom is far better than Doom 3. Hope you get it soon, the entire game plays like a well crafted love letter to fans of the originals. Lots of hordes to be slayed later in the story. :)

I don’t really think that Blizzard’s recording is too egregious. It might’ve been a misstep where the voice actor didn’t actually know the source material, but more likely is they didn’t want to deal with any copyright BS and changed the delivery of the line. There are plenty of pop culture references delivered

And now I really want to play D&D with you.

There’s nothing sudden about this one. This project started over 10 years ago.

Oh, ok. I see it now there at the bottom of Blizzard’s original forum post. Not sure how I missed that one. I guess I just expected it to be tucked away in the middle of a paragraph when I skimmed through. lol

Not even mad about this. If a game needs delayed, it needs delayed. Far better of a thing to happen than for the game to come out and have a bunch of un-fixed issues.

It was all a good time through the prologue and week 1, but I definitely liked the chess match most.

I looked through the links in this article and didn’t see anything about Blizzard addressing tick rate for consoles. Can you link for reference?

Even post-patch I would not describe her weapon as “longish range”. The drop off in damage is a very short range. Yes, it can absolutely shred at melee range but as soon as you get farther than that it’s very weak.
