That’s what I expect too. I’ve heard accounts that Trump didn’t want to plan a transition team (which jives with what I’ve heard here from the conservative think tanks in DC) because he didn’t know if he was going to win.

Yes. Thank you for this. Polling became pretty fucking unreliable since we’ve moved to cell phones and away from land lines. Online polls are tricky because there’s self-selection bias there.
Bannon isn’t merely provocative. He’s the self-proclaimed leader of the alt-right which came to legitimacy through this election.
Right - so people should go vote then.
They’re two different job functions. One’s legislating and the other is the executive branch, the representative leader, etc. Working within Congress does require some knowledge of how to work within the political sphere. We see what happens when people don’t understand how it works - look at the gridlock with the Tea…
Hello friend! I’m a center-right Independent. My husband’s a moderate Republican. So we mostly vote candidate and it usually comes down to one specific issue that we vote on.
So maybe he really can’t read like Sam Bee suggested...and he was trying to figure out where his name was on the ballot???
I think this is the first year that hubs and I aren’t cancelling each other’s vote!!
Yes, yes, yes.
No, no, no. Cruz is terrible. He took the country hostage with his fauxlibuster which cost the country 300 million dollars when he shut it down to repeal Obamacare when he didn’t have the votes...all to get his presence known on the national stage. Republicans inside the beltway hate him.
So there’s definitely been an outflux of the moderate republicans - but for many years, there was a huge contingent of elected moderate republicans in the House. The rise of the Tea Party through gerrymandering, etc. has helped push out a lot of them. My husband used to work for one. He got pushed out by a bunch of…
Not really. He’s reversed himself on a ton of issues and actually for years has been more of an outspoken democrat. He’s issue-agnostic, I think, and just saying what he needs to to get elected. But the populism, the anti-trade rhetoric - that’s not lock stock Republican.
I mean look how Bernie fans are split between Trump and Hillary. The populist faction of that group is actually considering voting for Trump because they don’t like Hillary. I mean, I’m just saying - it could happen with this crazy populist movement in the country today.
Excellent point.
This is one of the best shows out there right now. I agree with the writer about Paper Boi not moving forward quickly. It (and other elements) brings a realism and feeling of authenticity to this show that is just fantastic...but then some absolutely fantastic jokes in there that border and dip into the absurd.
Yup. No disagreement there.
I’d say give it a chance. There’s some interesting stuff that happens toward the end of the season. But season 1 was just so good that I’d like to see how they’re going to attack season 3. The characters are so fascinating to me.
I also have an issue with the oversexualization of Halloween. But the problem too is that these costume designers wouldn’t continue to design sexy halloween costumes if people weren’t buying them. But each year this is an issue. So...where does the problem start? With the costume designers? Or the parents who want to…
I’m sorry if you’re offended by whorephobia.
Excellent points.
