Which Republicans are you referring to? Are the Republicans that you’re talking about middle class or working class? But regardless, it’s anecdotal. Part of the problem is that some of it is conditioned by the elected Republicans and the behind the scenes donors.

Just one comment - you stated “The GOP wants low taxes”. I’d revise it to “Large donors want low taxes”. This is out of sync with the average Republican and a physical manifestation of the large donors trying to set an agenda for years and now they’re getting called to the carpet by working class folks.

The outrage that should have been there was much more muted. All that to say - I’m hoping a Dem could trounce Trump in the general, but he’s made me increasingly more nervous the further he’s gotten.

I don’t disagree with anything that you’ve said. Trump is awful. Yet polling is indicating that Trump is picking up democrat support.

Maybe. But Trump has also picked up *some* black support too. He really cuts across many different demographics (except Muslim and Mexican-Americans, for obvious reasons).

Which is ironic, because the Donald is not a republican...he’s a populist. A horrible, terrible, fascist populist.

Be careful what you wish for. Trump appeals to a lot of democrats as well. He’s cutting a wide swath of voters, being a populist and gaining support.
