I think you need to know the shows in order to get the references. Glad you enjoyed.

I liked it. It spoofed all the shows we have perfectly. And their laugh tracks which are often obviously fake as owt.

Now playing

I feel. My heart sinks when I see a UK panel show and it is just pasty dudes from public school doing the same fucking jokes over and over. In fact when Andi Osho and Sarah Pascoe are on BBC Mock the Week, I will watch more. They are the funniest. But then again, I think Mock the Week formula is crap because they have

The Brits made it a law that you couldn’t have a panel show without a woman on it a year or so ago. The result has been a lot of ‘one token female’ but overall I think it’s been a positive because since every panel show has to do it (and the Brits have a ton of panel shows) it’s raised the visibility of women in those

Sure, I’m a middle-aged man — the only people who could call me “boy” once I was old enough to vote without raising my hackles were my parents and grandparents, and three of them are long dead. And considering I’m the child of an interracial marriage, being called “boy” has a rather unpleasant racist connotation.

Could have been worse.

When you use the word “token”, i understand it to mean,”just throw any ole woman up there.” That's the confusion in your post.

The point is not adding “token” women. The point is recognizing the knowledge and skills women abundantly have, and are equal to or exceed that of male panalist, and incorporate them equally into the world.

I am okay with “girl” when it can be seen as the female equivalent of “guy,” and I suppose I’d be okay with it if some ninety-five-year-old were referring to a forty-year-old, but when it’s talking about a woman in a professional setting I don’t care for it..

Yeah, but the Green Arrow doesn’t go by Green Arrow. Smallville had Clark going by “The Blur” for a while. What would have been brilliant is if Calista’s character was like, “This is the name we could copyright, so we’re sticking with it.”

“Unsurprisingly, Shelton’s dress code rules only apply to female students and sounds a lot like that Great Leggings Debate of 2014, just for another body part.”

Male students can still wear backless gowns? I would totally do this just to mess with the staff!

It wouldn’t be a slippery slope if they had good posture though...

Backless is better than massive boobage/cleavage, in my opinion. I saw a girl at a park doing group prom pics wearing a slinky black gown, up to her neck in front with long sleeves but totally backless down to her waist. She had the figure for it and she looked stunning, not at all trashy. She was red carpet worthy.

It’s a slippery slope. All the girls will probably end up pregnant if they allow these dresses.

You know what schools should do instead of dress codes? Teach students about enthusiastic consent. Explain to students the damage male-female stereotypes can do and help them develop a more realistic view of men and women.

*clutches pearls* Keep those backs covered, ladies! We all know the implications of an exposed back....

That’s because women took a bite of the forbidden fruit first and we must therefore dress like the evil queens we are. CAPES AND HIGH COLLARS FOR ALLLLL! Make sure to use your Dipbrow to draw your eyebrows on EXTRA evil so you don’t tempt any boys or male chaperones. XD Like someone else said, I can’t even get angry

Um, maybe we could worry about kids not driving drunk and having unprotected sex? Are backless dresses really at the top of the priority list?

This is utter BS. I have been watching all of my friends feeds, and literally EVERYBODY’s daughter/niece/granddaughter/whatever is wearing backless dresses this year. It’s a thing apparently. But it is several measures beyond fucked up to wait until the week before prom to bring this up. If they were serious about

I distinctly remember that this was also the dress code for dances when I was in school because people acted just as fucking dramatic about it then, too. They took dinosaurs instead of limos back then though.
