Counterpoint. It actually looks badass. I’m a fan and wouldn’t say no to a Civic Si as a cheap beater in a few years. And for how many new Civics I see compared to Corolla’s or Koreans, I can’t be the only one.

Counterpoint. The new Civic is the first good looking civic since the 90's. The previous gen made absolutely zero sense, and only the Type R somewhat passed it off as sporty.

If every other car in the segment is doing something similar, it may not be as terrible. Focus RS or CTR before Covid was a slap in the face, now it’s the norm....silver lining maybe?

This. I see Raptors every single day, one of which tow or haul anything. Those same people are the ones who complain gas went from $3 to 4.50

1st Gear. One glaring issue people forget about Carmax’s sometimes above market pricing markup, is that the “free” warranty included is in the price and for many, that reassurance makes the process less stressful.

This isn’t a warranty though, it’s more of a carmax buying feeling. You can buy a used car pretty much anywhere and add a warranty, but there’s very few places that you can feel comfortable buying the car, and having months to test out every single button and make sure it doesn’t blow up the next block over. Issues

To be fair, even prior to Covid the prices remained high. In later 2016 I scooped a mint 08 with 30k miles for $30k plus taxes. The more sought after 11-14's were $35-50k.

Having a modified ISF for the past 6 years, I can say it was the best daily driver to surprise people with. Everyone assumes it’s a 6 cylinder yet it runs 11's. No attention can be a great thing, as my perfect driving record shows..

100%. Had an 08 and 12 ISF, both modified and autocross with lots of spirited fun days. 100k+ miles between them both and I had only 2 repairs total under $1500.

Was lucky enough to own an 08 and later a 12 ISF which I only sold last month, imo the best of the F cars. The GSF was a great car with great reviews but was marketed and priced poorly and offered no reason for an ISF or E92 owner to upgrade. It was more of a 550i, S6 or V Sport, than M5/CTSV.

If the difference is only $1500 or so, then their free limited warranty is worth every penny. Most used dealers you drive off the lot and they will only cover powertrain related issues in the next 30 days. With Carmax, you have a full 90 days/4k miles to test out every button and feature and have 7 days to completely

Although your intentions are pure and I can’t type much without sounding like an A$$hat, you still had to know that higher gas prices were coming right? We’ve been on the brink of an 08 style collapse for years now.

I mean OPEC and the oil companies are recording highest profits in nearly a decade..

To all them folks that rushed out to have 3 kids I have the world’s tiniest violin on standby.

Same for me as for the first time in 10 years, I don’t have a sports car. I sold my ISF and GX470 for great money and am happily borrowing my wife’s hybrid until things blow over a bit. Hoping this $5-6/gallon gas forces some gx460 overlanders to give up so I can scoop on the low. $50k for a 4 year old 4runner is a

Gonna have to strongly disagree with you here. The original FX35 was a low, wide, great handling SUV, with the great G35 VQ sound or the V8. It was a wildly popular car and the design aged very well(imo). There was no Hyundai I can think of before 2018 that came even close. The second generation looked nice but didn’t

Why is he an idiot? How is the manufacturer not the idiot for not having a catalog of replacement parts and decent customer service? Way to fanboy.

Cargurus tracks price trends by model and brand for 30/90 days or 1 year. Not quite what you wanted but still helpful.

I may have been able to get another grand maybe, but at that point I was already pushing my luck. People in the northern states were scrambling for something before winter. As much as I repaired on it, I realized 235k is nice for short distances but not quite something I want to drive 5+ hours away, plus it did feel a

Annual blizzard where? The past few years we are lucky to get more than 2-3" maybe 3 times a winter, often less. This was a case of rain all Saturday and Sunday, so they were late on any treatment, and Monday morning once it started around 6am it was heavy until noon. I’m just north of DC and it felt like we got 4"
