I want PC and Ralph to make it so badly. Poor Ralph. I love PC but I agree she isn’t being remotely anywhere in the county lines of fairness with Ralph. She felt like a failure when she couldn’t have a baby and projected that feeling onto him.

I can see why Diane was driven to it. He’s in total denial about his need for help so no conversation is possible. It also must be incredibly galling to have a 50 year old man who almost slept with his friend’s 17 year old daughter that “we are the same.” Hell, no, you aren’t the same Bojack.
Pickles was really tugging my last heartstring I have in this one.
Their cover of Paranoid Android is the same way. Just really, really faithful, adding nothing new.
I liked the bit towards the end where she was audibly running out of breath to keep going. But it wasn’t terrible.
It’s baffling to me that they dropped all the episode reviews in one go when you would think they have less people than ever to actually write detailed pop culture comment. Also the reviews deserve more (well give or take some probably fatigue induced copy editing errors). Usually if you drop them at once people binge…
Don’t you enjoy singing along loudly to the theme song? ;-)
I don’t think the story is wafer thin at all. Diane and Bojack have made some steps forward and then Diane is stuck with this choice of riskinbg everything by trying to ask him about the tape or keeping quiet and feeling complicit in something that sounds very bad, against all her principles.
Wow this show is really rocking the wham endings this season. That scene was incredibly messed up and it’s telling of how far Bojack has to go that Diane can’t or won’t attempt to have a conversation about the tape with him.
One good thing about autum though is at least you can go out or do something and not need a shower ten seconds later ;-)
I’ve watched the first few episodes of Bojack and I’m hoping to be able to finish the new season today.
It makes you wonder how much misery inadequately treated/undiagnosed depression does. I say this because before my Mum had treatment our interactions were like that. If she was unhappy/angry, we all had to be.
It’s unlikely but if someone does buy and save it, I wish they would use some sort of comment system where you need an AVC login. And actually moderate comments.
It’s extra bizarre when you consider several staff were made redundant and presumably they have the space to spread the actual substantive content out a little longer. Also it doesn’t leave much time for copy-editing or thinking in-depth/seeing episodes more than once before reviewing them.
This episode really worked for me. It was pretty clear early in that the whole episode would be the eulogy but it didn’t drag.
Same. I thought the voice sounded a little Betty White in places. I’m really surprised it was David Sedaris :-)
I was surprised Bojack’s near sex with Penny was brought up this early (I thought they might run with Bojack the feminist and then have Charlotte and/or Penny speak up towards the end of the season). But it really, really worked here. I love all the conflicts they’ve set up with Diane. She has to deal with Bojack,…
I hate TV’s version of bad singing ;-)
I liked this one better than the first episode and it also feels very remniscient of Bojack’s whole running in circles line since Diane has had other struggles with who she is versus who she wants to be.
Alison Brie is really talented so that helps ;-)
