AOC is a shiny new thing, because someone bold enough to actually call herself a socialist and still get elected to Congress is pretty amazing for the USA.

The longer you watch Congress the more you realize the more radical the newly elected, the more moderate the second term.  

The best description of Trump I have heard is that he speaks loudly and carries a small stick.  This seems to also apply to AOC.  I am sure she will get better at compromise though.  Look at her first tangle with Pelosi.  

Why is AOC the shiny new thing?  She has a bunch of ideas, but she doesn’t seem to have and real idea of how to implement them.  A decade in the Senate with Bernie has probably given McCaskill respect for people who do rather than talk.

If this show would have been made by a lesser known younger comedian, it would have been praised to the heavens.

It’s ridiculous that this show is getting overlooked in the end of year round-up. As a sketch show, it was wildly inconsistent (as most of these shows are), but as a political satire, there’s not even a close second place. I can’t imagine the high points of this show ever being matched.
