I have often commented to my son that at least when I die he doesn’t have to keep paying my student loans as they are not inheritable...

You have some very valid points...I myself will admit that I have ample time to cook if I want to (but I hate it) it just irks me that you refuse to admit that there may in fact be people who DO in fact work 7 days a week 16 hours per day and/or out of town for weeks on end...they are not the majority (thank god) but

wait wait wait...there is a fancy electronic version? Of to Google...

Not everyone is cut out for college though...what we need is better pay and better protection for all workers, not just those that require a college degree... (just to note I do have an MA...I just know that not everyone has the ability/desire to go to college)..and I would say those people in jobs that don’t need a

Our state is very anti-union... (right to (not) work as they say)...I worry about this too, my husband’s job is very physical, he is often exhausted and doesn’t eat well (they don’t stop for lunch and by the time they get done all that is available in small towns is bar pizza or gas station food)...luckily he does

Sometimes that makes all the difference (at least sleeping in the same bed).

I think the last time I made it I put it in the crockpot...maybe too much liquid and that is why? I will try your recipe next time! Thanks.

What I said in this comment is that they are not only working 8 hour days, perhaps they are working 10 etc...however in one of my previous comments I gave a specific example of my husband who works in highway construction and during the season yes he works 7 days a week , and yes often 16 hours...last night he got

Serious question...how do you keep the rice from getting “mushy” if you want to use leftovers for lunches during the week? I always have this problem. Also thank you for the idea...my beans and rice recipe has celery which I don’t particularly care for, I like cabbage much better but had never thought to substitute!

I tend to run into this problem when trying to multitask (laundry, dishes, kid)...Can’t even tell you how many “just don’t scrape the rice off the bottom of the pan and it will be fine” meals I have had...I never learned how to make any “real” food either...every recipe I know is based on rice or pasta (which my Dr

So when people work 7 days a week they are only working 8 hour days? lol....

Well clearly you should have quit school and should stop going to the gym /sarcasm

You have my sympathy! Those 100+ weeks are the WORST...no matter how much you are getting paid ( I never do them but dh does...yuck) and you are exactly right...energy level after working a 16 hour day? 0...

Guess you have never met people in the construction trades in northern states with short seasons? Yes not forever, but a good 5 months straight with maybe 1 weekend day off every 3-4 weeks... (granted they make more than minimum wage, but not as much as you would think)

c)? Yes...my husband worked 92 hours last week and in the high 80s the previous 2...this is his normal schedule...last night he was saying what a slacker he was because he only worked 14 hours yesterday...

Yes! YouTube is how I learned to fix my washing machine and how we learned how to replace the radiator in my son’s Jeep...you can learn anything on YouTube!

I am so sorry for your losses, losing a parent is hard, losing both in such a short time must be doubly so. I hope that you find someone you can talk to to help you through this difficult time...sometimes even the person closest to you has a hard time knowing what to say/do if they haven’t been there.

Thanks! Definitely into the cemeteries, and the French Quarter. I have always wanted to go, so I am pretty excited!

I am going to NO for the first time the last week in January...I have 5 days, what are the MUST sees?

Precisely...I always did think Louis was a whiny brat...even though Lestat is the Brat Prince...
