I think the whole point is to get all religious paraphernalia removed from public spaces. I don’t think Satanists actually care about having their statues up on public property; that’s why they only petition for such things when Christians exercise such extraconstitutional privileges.

When Christians tell me my grandparents are burning in hell, I’m not allowed to judge them because it’s their religious belief. But I’m the asshole for saying “no” when they ask me if I believe their god exists.

I’m trying to determine whether “coming out” as a Satanist would be more offensive to my boyfriend’s Christian relatives than just being my authentic atheist Jew self. Something tells me this country’s Christian population would be more accepting of a satanist than an atheist Jew.
